Samsun Metropolitan Municipality continues the construction of the Ottoman Book Cafe Project, which it started in Observatory, one of the oldest neighborhoods of the city. President Mustafa Demir stated that they will put the cafe into service in 2023.
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality designed the 100 square meter parcel next to the 416 Yıl Boulevard Observatory Mosque as a social reinforcement area. The Metropolitan Municipality, which aims to enable young people and the mosque community to blend in by touching their lives, awarded the Ottoman Book Cafe Project, which was prepared by the Department of Studies and Projects. Construction work on the project, which will cost 3.5 million TL, continues at full speed. Within the scope of the rough construction works, the basement floor electrical and mechanical installation piping and ground floor brick wall fabrications were completed. While the interior and exterior plasters of the basement and ground floors are being made, the production of replacing the wooden beams of the roof continues.
EVERYTHING TO SERVE PEOPLE
Stating that they aim to strengthen the social and cultural structure of the city with the projects they have started, Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Demir said that the Observatory Ottoman Book Cafe Project will add value to the 100th Year Boulevard. President Demir said, “Samsun, with its historical, touristic and cultural features, can no longer fit into its shell. With our investment projects, we are modernizing all parts of our city, which is the center and largest metropolis of the Black Sea. We are building the future of Samsun with solid, durable and aesthetic structures”, saying, “We want our citizens of all age groups to lead a happy and peaceful life with the urban transformation projects we have implemented. We want our children to grow up in a more beautiful and healthy environment. Observatory Ottoman Book Cafe Project is one of them. When we put it into service next year, we will touch the lives of our elders and tradesmen in the Observatory Mosque community, as well as the young people.”
