Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu attended the MEB Passage Promotion Ceremony to be signed between the General Directorate of Support Services of the Ministry of National Education and the PTT AVM. Making a statement at the ceremony, Karaismailoğlu noted that e-commerce continues to increase exponentially every year and that it is an indispensable part of life. Stating that consumers can easily reach the products they want with e-commerce, Karaismailoğlu said that they are making investments to bring this infrastructure to every home faster and more comfortably.
Noting that there are important developments in Turkey in communication as in all sectors of transportation, Karaismailoğlu said that the number of mobile users currently exceeds 90 million. He stated that fiber infrastructure investments continue, that the fiber infrastructure has reached 488 thousand kilometers, and that they aim to increase it to 1,5 million kilometers in the long term. Karaismailoğlu pointed out that the 5G and 6G infrastructure is also under the responsibility of the ministry.
WE PROJECT E-TRADE VOLUME TO REACH 2022 BILLION LIRA IN 600
Referring to the developments in global trade, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that global trade worldwide increased by 2021 percent in 14 and reached approximately 5 trillion dollars. WE BRING AGE TO TURKEY WITH INVESTMENTS
Karaismailoğlu said that as the Ministry, they are working as a team to carry out these activities with speed, comfort and ease, whether they are e-commerce or carried out in a completely physical system, from internet infrastructure to satellite systems, from all transportation modes that are the backbone of international transportation to logistics centers. Karaismailoğlu stated that they are building the infrastructure that will carry them to the development of our Turkey, being one of the 10 largest economies in the world and to the Turkish Century, which we are eagerly waiting for, with the awareness of national responsibility. Emphasizing that serious investments have been made in the transportation sector in the last 20 years, and thanks to these investments, Turkey has come a long way, Karaismailoğlu stated that they have invested 183 billion dollars in all transportation sectors. He stated that thanks to their investments, they have saved 28 billion dollars annually from fuel, time and elimination of accident costs. 140 MILLION DOLLARS TO BE PAID IN ESENBOGA AIRPORT TENDER
Pointing out that the investments continue to increase, Karaismailoğlu stated that an investment of 3 million Euros should be made at Esenboğa Airport, which covers the 300rd Runway, the renewal of the existing runway, additional Terminal, tower services and some technical works. Expressing that the Esenboğa Airport tender was held yesterday, Karaismailoğlu said, “We have completed a job yesterday, with an investment of 300 million Euros and a total of 560 million Euros with a rent guarantee to the state, without leaving a penny from the state. We will put 140 million Euros of this into our state's coffers within 90 days. We make extensive use of public-private cooperation in projects with suitable feasibility. Tomorrow we will open an important road in Bitlis. We have also made our road, which serves an important traffic in the logistics corridor between Bitlis and Siirt, high quality, comfortable and safe. On Saturday, we will be in Erzurum under the leadership of our President. We also have services there. We will open them and put them at the service of our country and the world.”
NO COMMISSION AND CARGO FEE WILL BE CHARGED FROM STORES OPENED BY PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Stating that it is very valuable to sell the products produced under the e-commerce protocol within the General Directorates of Vocational and Technical Education, Special Education and Guidance Services and Lifelong Learning by PTT AVM, Karaismailoğlu said that this is also a social responsibility project. Karaismailoğlu stated that the PTT has gone to places where no one has gone in Turkey with its age and experience of 2 centuries, and noted that PTTAVM also serves an important function.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “PTTAVM is one of the most reliable and largest e-commerce sites in Turkey with more than 30 thousand suppliers, more than 45 million products, more than 13 million registered members and approximately 3 million transactions per month. It also exports its products to more than 98 countries abroad. I believe that PTTAVM will make valuable contributions to the service quality and sales of Private Education Institutions affiliated to the General Directorate of Special Education and Guidance with the experience it has gained. A special section for the products of our Ministry of National Education has been opened on the PTTAVM website at the address 'mebpasaj.pttavm.com'. We will not charge commission fees and shipping fees from the stores opened by our Private Education Institutions in PTTAVM, valid for 6 months from the date of signing the protocol. We are extremely pleased with this step, which we believe will strengthen employment," he said.
