Landscape works continue around the 'Teacher Memorial Forest and Martyr Teachers Monument' built in Yükseltepe District in cooperation with Keçiören Municipality and Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Teacher Training and Development. The teams are making this place look more aesthetic with the work of rolling grass around the monument.
Keçiören Mayor Turgut Altınok, who said that they brought an important monument and memorial forest for the martyred teachers to the Capital, said, “We opened our Teacher Memorial Forest and Martyr Teachers Monument on 24 November Teachers' Day. Since it has a huge area, we continue our landscaping works without slowing down. We built our monument on 344 acres of land. Here, we have also brought a large forest and recreation area of 344 decares to our city, our capital and Keçiören. I commemorate all our martyred teachers with mercy and gratitude.” said.
The Teachers' Memorial Forest and Martyr Teachers' Monument are located on an area of 344 thousand square meters (334 decares), where there are mausoleums representing many teachers who have been martyred since the War of Independence. The monument, where more than 210 thousand saplings were planted, is Turkey's first Martyr Teachers Monument.
