Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu met with young people at the BTK Academy Career Summit. Karaismailoğlu said, “Future generations will no longer think about infrastructure and roads. They will discuss what can be done in the field of technology and innovation and they will affect production in this direction.”

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu met with the youth at the BTK Academy Career Summit held at the Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTK). Karaismailoğlu stated that as the Ministry, they exist at every point where life and mobility are experienced and that the air, sea, railway, land routes and communication sectors are very important for them, and that they have come a long way in Turkey in the last 20 years and they are proud of it.

Karaismailoğlu said, “We have 700 thousand colleagues. In these 5 sectors, they make an intense effort to keep our country alive in the field of transportation and communication in every region of Turkey. I am also an older brother of our colleagues, a sözcüI am here as Success is teamwork. We are trying to provide this to our country and nation with our 700 thousand friends.”

Emphasizing that as the Ministry, they carry people, loads and data and make great efforts to deliver them to the citizens in the fastest, safest and most comfortable way, Karaismailoğlu stated that they have completed the infrastructure deficiencies of Turkey significantly in the last 20 years, and that the number of broadband internet subscribers has reached the level of 90 million. Pointing out that Turkey is one of the few countries in the world especially in mobile subscribers, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said:

“Thanks to this strong infrastructure, we are one of the top 20 countries that use the internet the most, and we are among the top 5 in Europe. We are a society that is so dependent on the internet and informatics. Our task is too much. We are making an intense effort to increase the current capacity and speed. For this effort, we are in constant communication with our colleagues, the private sector, universities and non-governmental organizations. We were at METU this morning. We also have important collaborations related to the communication sector there.”

IT IS NOT A coincidence that TURKEY IS ONE OF THE WORLD'S FASTEST GROWING COUNTRIES

Pointing out that Turkey is one of the fastest growing countries, thanks to its strong infrastructure, Karaismailoğlu said that while there were 20 million vehicles in Turkey 8 years ago, this number has now increased to 26 million. Karaismailoğlu stated that the traffic congestion was much less than 20 years ago, and said, “This has happened thanks to the investments planned with the mind of the state. If these investments had not been made, Turkey could neither have reached these export figures nor could it have removed all obstacles to this mobility. The easier, safer and faster you can reach a region, the more you will have an impact on its investment, production and employment. When you invest 1 unit of transportation in a region, you contribute 1 times to production and 10 times to national income in 6 year. We have invested 20 billion dollars in the last 183 years. In return, we contributed 1 trillion dollars to production and 600 billion dollars to national income.”

Pointing out that the record breaking export figures and the fact that Turkey is one of the fastest growing countries in the world cannot be considered as a coincidence, Karaismailoğlu explained that there is a great effort and dedication behind this success.

THE MOST VALUABLE EXPORT WITHOUT KILOGRAM

Underlining that future generations will no longer think about things like infrastructure and roads, Karaismailoğlu said that instead they will discuss what can be done in the field of technology and innovation and that they will affect production in this direction. Emphasizing that “the most valuable export is the one without a kilogram”, Karaismailoğlu made the following assessments:

“This is project, engineering, software, consultancy and consultancy. That's why we and you will work more in these sectors. With the knowledge and experience gained in the transportation sectors in Turkey in the last 20 years, Turkey now exports engineering and software to the whole world. These have a positive effect on our export figures. The number of students at BTK Academy has exceeded 1 million. This is a huge success. With the knowledge and experience you will gain here, you will make important contributions to the development of both yourself and our country. Informatics communication is an important part of our life. Cyber security, which we call the cyber homeland, is one of our most important issues, without harming the beneficial aspects of this internet and our country. That's why our colleagues at BTK, who are very experts in cyber security, work here. Our expert friends are trying to protect our cyber homeland 7/24 like the Blue Homeland and the Motherland.”

WE AIM TO REACH 1,5 MILLION MILES OF FIBER NETWORK

Karaismailoğlu stated that they aim to increase the fiber network, which is currently 488 thousand kilometers, to 1,5 million kilometers. Touching on the subject of 5G, Karaismailoğlu said, “I hope we will make 5G with our domestic and national resources. That's why we established an important communication cluster in Ankara. Here, too, there are important studies in all areas of 5G. 5G will also be an important infrastructure of 6G. We made our plans by taking into account the advantages that 5G will bring in industry, production and medicine. "There will be important developments in the coming days," he said.
