According to the Human Development Index - Districts (HDI - D) 2021 report Kadıköy Municipality of "Very High Human Development" ranked first in Turkey.
In order to support human development in the districts of the Human Development Foundation (İNGEV), districts live a long, healthy and creative life; The Human Development Index – Districts (HDI-D) 2021 report, which can be described as the scorecard of municipalities, prepared by taking into account the criteria of having the opportunity to receive information and education and accessing the necessary resources for a decent life, was announced at an online meeting on Tuesday, December 20. According to the report, 150 districts covering all districts of the three big cities and district municipalities with a population of more than 177 thousand in Turkey were evaluated. Kadıköy Municipality of "Very High Human Development" ranked first in the ranking. The municipality, which also ranked first in the report in 2020, also ranked first in the categories of governance and transparency, social inclusion, health, social life, and gender equality.
Attending the online meeting Kadıköy Mayor Şerdil Dara Odabaşı said that they were at the top of the level of human development for two consecutive years and that they approached their vision goals with the right strategy. Odabaşı continued his words as follows:

I can also say that the results of this report, which is prepared every year, lead to a sweet competition between local governments. For this reason, in the human development report, the results of which we look forward to every year, this year, among other fields, KadıköyIt is a great honor to learn that Turkey is also at the top of the social equality and transparency categories that reflect its libertarian spirit. While the HDI-D report guides the future, it measures municipal performances and highlights successful performances. HDI-D 2021 Report has been prepared to cover district municipalities with a population of more than 150 thousand and all districts of the three big cities. The data set consists of 9 sub-indices, 81 indicators, 121 variables and “secret citizen” studies that are particularly relevant to local governments, and the results of more than 3 applications made to municipalities. The Human Development Index has been published by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) at the country level since 800. INGEV, on the other hand, has been carrying out its Human Development Index-Districts (HDI-D) study, which it has prepared for the measurement of human development at the local level, since 1990.
