Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu emphasized that Kocaeli, which is a logistics center via the İzmit-Kandıra-Kaynarca road, has strengthened its transportation network and pointed out that with the project, an annual saving of 109,2 million TL will be achieved.

Noting that Kocaeli is located on the route of important land, sea and railway transportation networks connecting Europe to Anatolia and the Middle East, Karaismailoğlu said, “The proximity to major metropolises, the Black Sea and Marmara connection, the development of the city as an industry, trade, transportation and logistics center. factor,” he said.

Stating that Kandıra is an important tourist attraction center for Istanbul and Kocaeli, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that with the Food and Specialized Organized Industrial Zone to be implemented in Kandıra district for the first time in Turkey, the economic potential of the region based on agriculture and animal husbandry is expected to increase.

A TOTAL OF 17,2 KM IS OPENED TO SERVICE

Minister of Transport, Karaismailoğlu, stated that with the addition of daily traffic density, especially in summer, there was a serious increase in traffic volume and continued his statement as follows:

“İzmit-Kandıra-Kaynarca Road was designed as a 58,9 kilometer long, 2×2 lane, bituminous hot mix paved divided road. Within the scope of the project, we first offered the 1 kilometer section including the TEM Bus Station K-4,2 Köprülü Junction, the 3 kilometer Çubuklubala – Çubuklu Osmaniye Variant and the 4-kilometer Prison Variant to the service of our citizens. With the works carried out this year, we completed a 6-kilometer section of the road between Çayırköy and Çubuklubala and opened a total of 17,2 kilometers. In the opened sections, there are 1046 bridges of 8 meters in total, 264 underpasses of 6 meters, 4086 culverts of 47 meters, and 1 intersections of different levels, namely TEM Otogar K6, Gölkent, Çubuklubala, Çubuklu Osmaniye, Prison Entrance, Prison Exit intersections.

109,2 MILLION TL ANNUALLY WILL BE SAVED WITH THE PROJECT

With the project, Izmit, the central district of the city; Underlining that it will be connected to the Kandıra district and the tourism centers along the Black Sea coast via the Ağva-Kandıra-Kaynarca-Karasu route in a divided road standard, Karaismailoğlu also stated that with the completion of the project, a high standard connection will be provided to the ports and industrial facilities planned to be built in the region. Karaismailoğlu, “The project; It is important in that it is one of the main routes connecting the Northern Marmara Motorway, Şile-Ağva-Kandıra-Kaynarca-Karasu D020 axis, TEM Motorway and D-100 State Road. The project relieves the traffic volume of the route, which serves heavy traffic, especially heavy vehicles. Once the entire project is put into service, the route will be shortened by 1,2 kilometers. Travel time will be reduced from 60 minutes to 40 minutes. Like this; A total of 84 million TL will be saved annually, 25,2 million TL from time and 109,2 million TL from fuel oil, and carbon emissions will be reduced by 5 thousand 356 tons.
