Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Opened Its Doors to the Homeless

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality continues to embrace citizens who do not have the opportunity to shelter in cold days. With the cooling of the weather, the number of people staying in Müyesser Turfan Temporary Male Guest House increased to 50 in two days, and the number of citizens staying at the hotel in Basmane region increased to 51.

The number of homeless people knocking on the door of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Müyesser Turfan Temporary Guesthouse, which is kept open 24 hours a day, reached 50 in the last two days due to the decrease in air temperature. The Metropolitan Municipality took the necessary measures by increasing the number of personnel and beds in order to meet the increasing demand for the guesthouse in Örnekköy. In addition, the Metropolitan Municipality, which rented a hotel in the Basmane region to meet the needs during the busy winter periods, also provided accommodation for 51 homeless people in this region. The Metropolitan also keeps the doors of the Historical Basmane Bath open for the homeless in the city. The hammam serves those who have accommodation problems on Mondays and Thursdays.
