Izmir Humor Festival Starts Tomorrow

The 6th Izmir International Humor Festival starts tomorrow. The opening ceremony of the festival organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will be held with the presentation of Metin Uca. At the ceremony at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center, Feridun Andaç Aziz Nesin will talk about Zeynep Oral Haldun Taner. The award ceremony of the 2022 Aziz Nesin Humor Awards will also be held as part of the festival.

Organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, the 6th Izmir International Humor Festival starts tomorrow (December 20, 2022). The opening ceremony of the festival at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center will be held with the presentation of Metin Uca. Organized in cooperation with İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, İZELMAN, Intercultural Art Association, İzmir Chamber of Architects, Doğan Kitap, Institut français and Liszt Institute, the cartoon exhibition titled 'Political Lines by Nezih Danyal and Eray Özbek' will be opened at Çetin Emeç Art Gallery on the second day of the festival. On the same evening, the 'December 21st Longest Night' event will take place at the French Cultural Center at 19:XNUMX with the screening of three films. In the night, Ernst Lubitch's "To be or not to be", Stanley Kubrick's "Dr. Strangelove” (Doctor Garipask) and Bertrand Tavernier's “Foreign Affairs” will be screened.

Directed by Vecdi Sayar, the festival will take place on December 22 at APİKAM Kitap Cafe. In the program that will start at 18.00, Assoc. Dr. Fevzi Cakmak and Dr. Asil Kaya will participate, and will be moderated by journalist Muzaffer Ayhan Kara, "Political Humor in the Press from the Constitutional Monarchy to the Republic" and "Politics and Humor", moderated by Raşit Çavaş, with the participation of Turgut Çeviker and Zeki Coşkun.

The opening of the “Hey… Politics” exhibition by master illustrator Latif Demirci, whom we lost this year, at the 23 December program at Kültürpark İzmir Sanat, an interview with Cihan Demirci and Kamil Yavuz on the pioneer of the art of caricature, Cemal Nadir Güler, and the Izmir director Oğuzhan Tercan, who we lost again this year. in “There is a Thief!” There is a screening of the movie.
