Izmir Metropolitan Municipality organized a run on the longest night of the year. More than 500 people participated in the race. Many cyclists accompanied the people of Izmir, who participated in the run on the 7,5-kilometer track, with illuminated ornaments and lanterns in their hands.
Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç SoyerIn line with the goal of making İzmir a sports city, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality once again crowned the longest night of the year, December 21, with a run. 500 Izmir residents and nearly 30 cyclists attended the event, which was held for the third time between Konak Ferry Port and Üçkuyular Izmir Marina.
With the start given by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Ertuğrul Tugay, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Services Department Head Hakan Orhunbilge and İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club President Ersan Odaman, the participants followed Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard at 7,5 pm. He completed the kilometer course in Izmir Marina. Those who participated in jogging and cycling would also color the night with illuminated ornaments and lanterns. Medals were awarded to those who reached the finish line in Izmir Marina in the organization.
