SOCAR Turkey was the first institution in the world to receive the Innovation Management System Certificate, initiated by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE), which encourages innovation in institutions and organizations, evaluates the current innovation performance of the organization, ensures business continuity, and creates a common framework to support corporate change programs. Presenting the certificate, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank said, “SOCAR is the first company in the world to receive the Industry Innovation Management System certification, and the organization that made this certification for the first time in the world is from Turkey. We congratulate them for the importance they place on innovation.” said.

Providing technology and knowledge transfer, compliance with market conditions to the manufacturer and quality assurance to the end user, TSE has added a new one to its certification programs. TSE has initiated the Innovation Management System certification within the scope of TS EN ISO 56002 Innovation Management System Standard, which encourages innovation in institutions and organizations, evaluates the current innovation performance of the organization, ensures business continuity and creates a common framework to support corporate change programs.

THE FIRST INSTITUTION TO DO THE CERTIFICATION FROM TURKEY

After the inspections, SOCAR Turkey R&D and Innovation A.Ş was certified within the scope of TS EN ISO 56002 Innovation Management System Standard when it met the necessary conditions. Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, who was in Izmir for the 9th R&D and Design Center and Technology Development Zones Summit and Award Ceremony, presented SOCAR's certificate. Speaking during the presentation of the document, Minister Varank said that they see R&D and innovation as the key to development and prosperity. Noting that their goal is to make a rapid transition from Turkey, which imports technology, to a Turkey with the structure of high technology, Minister Varank said, “The first company in the world to receive the Industry Innovation Management System certification and the organization that made this certification for the first time in the world is from Turkey. Minister Varank then presented the Innovation Management System certificate to Bilal Guliyev, General Manager of SOCAR Turkey R&D and Innovation Inc.

Referring to the benefits that the certification model provides to the institutions and organizations to which it is applied, TSE President Mahmut Sami Şahin said, “The Innovation Management System Certification program contributes to the increase in the ability to manage uncertainty in the institutions and organizations where it is applied. The program drives increased growth, revenues, profitability and competitiveness. The program, which we define as continuous improvement, process innovation or organizational innovation, also provides less cost, increased productivity and resource efficiency, and increases the satisfaction of users, customers and interested parties. Suggesting the development of an innovation culture with concrete measures, the Management System contributes to the increase of the reputation and brand value of the organization, and also facilitates regulations and other relevant requirements.” he said.
