İGA Istanbul Airport Supports Future Technologies

In order to catch up with the technological developments in the field of Civil Aviation and Airport Management from today, more than 2022 applications were made for entrepreneurship projects in the field of technology for the program, which was implemented in the first quarter of 200 by ITU ARI Teknokent and Istanbul Airport. The applications made were evaluated by the İTÜ Çekirdek evaluation board and İGA executives within the framework of different criteria such as team, market size and proximity to commercialization. In the first evaluation phase, 76 startup projects appeared before the jury and made their project presentations to the evaluation board. 76 startups out of 18 were entitled to be supported with trainings, mentoring programs and investor interviews.

Within the scope of the IGA Hub Entrepreneurship Program, 18 startups were provided with a fully equipped working environment, ITU Seed entrepreneurship trainings, mentorship from IGA managers, IGA - ITU ARI Teknokent's business network, investor meetings, and perks and prototyping laboratory support. 6 startup projects that made it to the final stage of the Big Bang Start-Up Challenge were entitled to a total of 800 thousand TL İGA award, additional benefits such as training, mentoring and free office use.

Eyes of Solar, one of the 10 startups that made it to the final stage of the Big Bang Start-Up Challenge, the biggest event in the world of entrepreneurship, received an award of 100 thousand TL from Enerjisa, in addition to the support it received from IGA Istanbul Airport. The Walkers project, which is among the “Top 20” initiatives, won the 75 thousand TL award given by Anadolu Efes. From Your Eyes, which is also among the “Top 20” initiatives, received a total of 300 thousand TL from AXA Insurance and Petrol Ofisi, apart from the İGA award.

In addition to these awards, 10 startups were entitled to receive a total of 3 million 175 thousand TL support with the support of İTÜ Çekirdek.

“Supported initiative started to be used in İGA”

The Clico initiative, which was supported with an award of 110 thousand TL at the Big Bang Start-Up Challenge final stage last year, started to be used in the operational processes of IGA Istanbul Airport this year. The Clico; collecting customer feedback from brands about their products and services; End-to-end online reputation software that transforms it into meaningful insights with natural language processing methods. Initiatives supported at the final stage of the Big Bang Startup Challenge in 2022 are targeted to be commercialized in 2023 at IGA.
