Settlement of Container Cities Established in Düzce Has Begun

The keys of 5,9 containers sent and installed for families whose houses were damaged after the 260 magnitude earthquake in the Gölyaka district of Düzce and whose "urgent demolition" decision was made will be delivered to the families as of today.

260 containers, which were placed at requested points in the city center and in container urban living areas in Gölyaka, Çilimli and Cumayeri districts, whose infrastructure and superstructure were completed by AFAD, were made ready to be delivered to families.

The final controls and cleaning of 40 containers, which include a playground, sitting and resting areas, were carried out in Çilimli district. The demolition of buildings, houses and mosques, for which an emergency demolition decision has been taken, continues throughout the city.

While demolition has just begun in some regions, rubble removal is being carried out in some of the destroyed buildings and mosques.
