Antalya Airport Will Be The Favorite Of The World

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu emphasized that Turkey has almost made history in the aviation industry for the last 20 years and noted that Antalya Airport will become one of the world's favorite airports with the investment to be made.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made examinations at Antalya Airport. Karaismailoğlu, who made a press statement afterwards, noted that Antalya is one of the tourism centers of the world. Noting that Antalya serves with a passenger capacity of 35 million, Karaismailoğlu said that they held an important tender at the beginning of December last year to remove the obstacles to developing and growing tourism.

Noting that they are planning an investment of approximately 750 million euros at Antalya Airport, Karaismailoğlu noted that investments should be made to meet the demand in the coming years. Expressing that the international terminal, the domestic terminal, the renovation of the existing towers, the arrangement of the VIP and CIP buildings are among the investments, Karaismailoğlu said that as a result of the investments, they will increase the passenger capacity from 35 million to 80 million. Expressing that an investment of 750 million euros will be made without leaving a penny from our state's budget, Karaismailoğlu also explained that the tender was completed with a rental income guarantee of 2025 billion 25 million euros within 8 years of operation after 555. Underlining that they put 25 billion 2 million euros, which is 138 percent of the rental income, into the state budget, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “So; Until 2025, we are making an investment of 15 billion liras, with its current value, without leaving a penny from the state.”

THIS YEAR WE REMOVE THE EFFECTS OF THE PANDEMIC

Pointing out that the aviation industry is experiencing great difficulties during the pandemic process, Karaismailoğlu said that they have eliminated the remnants of these difficulties as of this year. Noting that the effects of the pandemic last year continued and that the number of passengers in 2019 started to return at the end of this year, Karaismailoğlu stated that 2023 will be much more productive.

Pointing out that Antalya Airport hosted 32 million passengers this year, Karaismailoğlu said, “Antalya Airport will become one of the most popular airports in the world with the investment to be made. For the last 20 years, we have been writing a history in the aviation industry, especially in our country. In 2002, the number of passengers in Turkey was only 30 million. In 2019, we increased the number of airline passengers to 219 million. We made the airline the way of the people. We increased the number of airports from 26 to 57. We will increase this number to 60 with the ongoing Çukurova Airport, Yozgat Airport and Bayburt-Gümüşhane Airport.”

ISTANBUL AIRPORT IS ONE OF THE WORLD'S "BEST"

Expressing that Istanbul Airport is one of the best in the world, Karaismailoğlu said that they carried out a very successful business with the Public-Private cooperation at Istanbul Airport, the world's transit center. Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu, who said, “We have brought Istanbul Airport to our country with an investment of 10 billion euros, in a region where there is no life and life, with an investment of 25 billion euros, that is, without leaving a penny from our state's budget,” said Karaismailoğlu, who said that a rental income of 26 billion euros will be obtained during the 65-year operation period. Noting that they will close Istanbul Airport with a passenger number approaching XNUMX million this year, Karaismailoğlu made the following assessments:

“Istanbul Airport is the first in Europe, breaking records every month. One of the best airports in the world in terms of service quality… Istanbul Airport served 1400 aircraft and 230 thousand passengers, especially in summer. Today, it continues to provide quality and comfortable service to both foreign tourists and our own citizens with 1200 aircraft and nearly 200 thousand passengers. While Istanbul Airport is developing, Sabiha Gökçen Airport is also growing. It continues to serve Istanbul and Turkey with its daily 600 flights and 100 thousand passengers.”

Explaining that last year was very productive in terms of aviation sector investments, Karaismailoğlu reminded that they opened Tokat Airport in March and Rize-Artvin Airport, one of the most special projects in the world, on 14 May. Stating that the construction of terminal buildings in Malatya and Kayseri continues, Karaismailoğlu stated that they put the new terminal building of Gaziantep Airport into service last year.

25 PERCENT OF ESENBOĞA AIRPORT TENDER'S RENTAL INCOME TO BE PAID IN ADVANCE

Emphasizing that they also carried out successful work at Esenboğa Airport last week, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said that an investment of approximately 300 million euros is required at Esenboğa Airport, and that there are works to be done in line with both passenger capacity and needs. Pointing out that the third runway should be built here, the existing runway should be renewed, the capacity of the existing terminal building should be increased and new tower constructions should be made, Karaismailoğlu said, “The easiest thing was to get a budget from our state and do this job, but we did not do it. We will make an investment of 300 million Euros with the Build-Operate-Transfer model without leaving a penny out of our state's coffers. After 2025, we made the 25-year operation tender again with a rental income guarantee of 560 million Euros. The value of 560 million euros, which is 25% of this 140 million euro rental income, will be put in the safe of our operator state within 90 days.”

TURKEY IS DEVELOPING, TURKEY IS GROWING

Emphasizing that Turkey is developing and growing, Karaismailoğlu said, “We have 29 thousand kilometers of divided road network, 68 thousand kilometers of highways that we operate, and railway investments that we have reached to 13 thousand 100 kilometers, 1400 kilometers of which is high-speed trains. We have covered significant distances in the ongoing 4-kilometer railway network. We are making more than 500 percent of our investments in railways, as a railway-oriented investment period is now indispensable for our country.

WE'VE NEVER BEEN SATISFIED WITH WHAT WE DID

Underlining that Turkey continues to increase its attractiveness, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:

“We do the Build-Operate-Transfer projects we do here as open tenders and all foreign and international companies enter and bid in these tenders. This shows how attractive Turkey is in the world's agenda and how clear Turkey's future is. Seeing this, all companies want to come to Turkey and invest. We bring these investments to our country with different financial models in order to pave the way for investors. We have also set our next targets. We have planned an investment of 2053 billion dollars until 198, and we have started to invest in these as well. Just as we have already achieved our 2023 targets, we continue our investments in line with our 2053 targets. While investing on the one hand, we also undertake important tasks in order to increase the quality, comfort and capacity in the enterprise. In the investment period until 2053, there is a 65 percent weighted railway investment. The communication sector is one of the most important of these. In the airline whose infrastructure we have completed, we will now carry out important studies regarding the quality of operation. The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is actually a dynamo of Turkey, which will be among the top 10 developed economies of the world in line with its growing and developing goals. The year 2022 has been full for us. We are never satisfied with what we do. We worked harder to do better. In 2023, our pace will continue to increase. So let the world continue to watch us, and the opposition should continue to watch us. Thanks to the good work we have done, the life of our citizens has become easier. The biggest factor behind Turkey's achievement of the world's largest growth figures is the projects we produce with these successful financial models. Therefore, the faster, easier and safer you reach a region, the more you affect the investment, employment, production and export of that region 10 times. With his awareness, we are working 5/700 with our 7 thousand construction sites and service points spread across Turkey and our 24 thousand colleagues, and we will continue to work.”
