The Ağrı-Dough-Tutak-Patnos Road, which will connect Eastern Anatolia to Southeastern Anatolia in a fast, safe and comfortable way with the quality of a divided road, was put into service with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan via live connection. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, General Manager of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, deputies, bureaucrats from public institutions and organizations and contractor company representatives took part in the ceremony held on Thursday, December 1st.

Wishing the Ağrı-Dough-Tutak-Patnos Road to be beneficial for our city, region and country, President Erdoğan said, “I hope we will complete the 9-kilometer-long Dough ring road of this project next year. Thus, we provide fast, comfortable and safe transportation on this important route of the historical Silk Road with a 79-kilometer 2-way and 2-way route. I believe that with its two bridges, viaducts, intersections and other structures on its route, we have brought a work worthy of our country to our city.” said.

“The distance between Ağrı and Patnos is not an hour; It can be covered in 35 minutes”

Stating that they have already prevented the disruption of transportation in the region with the Tutak Viaduct built on the dam area of ​​the hydroelectric power plant to be built on the Murat River, President Erdoğan continued: “Thanks to this road, which we have implemented with an investment of approximately 2,5 billion liras, the distance between Ağrı and Patnos is not an hour. can be reached in minutes. The annual contribution of our project to our country will be 35 million liras, 70 million liras of which will be time and 41 million liras from fuel, while it will also lead to a carbon reduction of 111 thousand 8 tons.”

President Erdoğan added that he believes that the Ağrı-Dough-Tutak-Patnos Road will make a significant contribution to the region's ability to use its agriculture, livestock, trade, industry and tourism potential more effectively.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that they are excited, happy and proud to open the Ağrı - Hamur - Tutak - Patnos Road, which will ensure the integrity of the divided road on the north-south axis of 70 kilometers stretching from Ağrı to Patnos. Karaismailoglu; He stated that the project will make significant contributions to the socio-economic development of Ağrı, especially agriculture, animal husbandry, industry and tourism.

“22 junctions, 109 culverts were built”

In the opening part of Ağrı-Hamur-Tutak-Patnos Road, the 140-meter Murat-1 Bridge, the 150-meter Murat-2 Bridge and the 335-meter Tutak Viaduct, as well as 22 junctions and 109 culverts were built. With the opening of the entire road to traffic, the integrity of the divided road will be ensured on the 79-kilometer north-south axis stretching from Ağrı to Patnos.

A total of 111,3 million TL savings will be achieved annually

Ağrı-Dough-Tutak-Patnos Road will save 70 million TL from time and 41,3 million TL from fuel, totaling 111,3 million TL annually; exhaust emissions will be reduced by 8.453 tons per year.
