In the statement made by the General Directorate of Security, the Turkish Police Task Force, which was created to support the security measures taken at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, went to Qatar at the beginning of October after the preparatory work that started about 4 years ago, together with its Qatari colleagues and other countries' security forces. It was reminded that he started to work in coordination.
Before and during the tournament, 2 thousand 242 personnel consisting of riot police, reinforcement ready force, bomb experts, bomb dogs, riot dogs, riot horses and administrators and health personnel who are experts in sports security, in all stadiums, in the festival area and in other areas where needed during the championship process. In the statement, which stated that it carried out a study to cover the 24-hour period, the following statements were included: “Thanks to the preventive and deterrent effective security measures, no regrettable incidents occurred in the football championships organized before. In this context, as a result of a good planning and implementation with a correct strategy, the 2022 World Football Championship was held in an atmosphere of peace and trust. The Turkish Police, by reflecting its discipline and experience on the field, had an important share in this success with all its elements, and gained the appreciation of everyone, especially the Qatari authorities.
Within the scope of the 2022 World Cup Championship security measures held in Qatar, 1 general coordinator, 20 consultant police chiefs, 2 thousand riot/reinforcement ready force personnel, 30 duty horses and 36 duty horse managers, 1 blacksmith, 1 veterinarian, 4 horse caregivers from our country. A total of 29 personnel were assigned, including 30 riot police dogs and 50 riot duty dog managers, 70 bomb search dogs and managers, 10 bomb experts, 20 coordination personnel and 2 translators.
In Qatar, the Turkish Police Task Force took charge in the Fanfest area of 40 thousand people, 8 stadiums where the competitions are played, hotels where the teams are accommodated, the camp and training areas of the teams, ticket sales centers and the accreditation center, which are under the responsibility of FIFA.
