Turkey's first wave power plant is being established with the cooperation of the Israeli Eco Wave Power Company and Ordu Energy (OREN).

In the post shared on the Twitter account of the Israeli Embassy, it was announced that an agreement was signed between EWP and OREN Ordu Energy for the establishment of a 77-megawatt power plant in the city.

Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler said on the subject, “After they realized the energy production from Ordu Garbage and wind, they started to work on energy production from the waves of the Black Sea, and that they signed a 150 million dollar study with Israel to generate electricity from the sea wave”.

President Güler spoke as follows:

“We have done our work to generate electrical energy from sea waves. Our colleagues also held meetings in Israel. We signed an agreement of 150 million dollars for wave energy production in Turkish-Israeli partnership. Hopefully, we will be able to produce energy from the waves of our Black Sea. Just like solar and wind energy, God gave me the opportunity to enact his laws, and now we will hopefully achieve this success. Wave energy is an environmentally friendly clean energy.”
