Pointing out that according to TAMP, one of the two duties of the Ministry is to provide psychosocial support and the other is to distribute in-kind aids, Minister Yanık said, “We have created a Donation In Kind Warehouse Management and Distribution Working Group within the scope of TAMP. In this way, we are establishing Disaster and Emergency Social Assistance Teams (ASIA) with a structure similar to UMKE and AFAD within our Ministry of Family and Social Services in order to determine the needs of our citizens in a short time and to deliver social aid to our citizens in need in a fast and effective way in case of disasters and emergencies. . In the event of a disaster, these teams will be mobilized to reach the disaster area quickly, identify the needs of our citizens and meet these needs quickly.
Minister Yanık stated that the volunteer personnel who will take part in the ASYA teams will consist of the personnel of the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations and the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services.
“We started to work on the establishment of 14 logistics warehouses in 15 cities”
Underlining that the works for the establishment of 14 logistics warehouses in 15 provinces have been started in order to deliver the in-kind aids for the needs of the citizens at the time of disaster to the disaster area, Minister Yanık said, “These warehouses are Afyonkarahisar, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, İstanbul (2 units), İzmir. was established in the provinces of Kayseri, Konya, Osmaniye, Samsun, Trabzon and Van. Pointing out that they meet the needs of the citizens with the in-kind donation warehouses established, Minister Derya Yanık said that 6.008 products have been donated to the existing In-kind Donation Warehouses. Minister Yanik added that 27 percent of the donations made to these warehouses so far came from the private sector, 72 percent from NGOs and 1 percent from citizens.
