Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu emphasized that 178 million passengers have used Istanbul Airport to date, and that Istanbul Airport has been chosen as the best airport in the world by all authorities for its service quality. Karaismailoğlu, who also stated that the investment rate in the railway has exceeded 60 percent, said that there is a full 4 kilometer railway investment in Turkey at the moment.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister Karaismailoğlu attended the "Platinum Global 100 Awards" ceremony. Speaking at the ceremony, Karaismailoğlu stated that the projects they implemented contributed to the country's economy, production, employment, investment, tourism and trade. Karaismailoğlu stated that they continue their investments in an environment where crises are spoken in the world, and that while most of the countries have problems in economic growth, Turkey continues to grow.

WE HAVE HUGE INVESTMENTS IN RAILWAYS

Karaismailoğlu pointed out that they will continue to make investments that will increase their potential and reminded that they have prepared the 2053 Transport and Logistics Master Plan by the Ministry. Underlining that the number of vehicles per 165 people, which is currently 1000, will increase by 3 times, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu explained that they are in the middle of the most important transportation corridors of the world and that they are planning to turn the advantages of this geographical location into an opportunity. Expressing that Kanal Istanbul is among these investments, Karaismailoğlu said, “We currently have very large investments in the railway. In other words, the world's largest railway infrastructure investments are now in Turkey. Again, we are in the middle of these energy flow lines. There are lines that pass over us and are planned. The world's most efficient and feasible investments such as tourism centers and Istanbul Airport are serving the whole world at the moment," he said.

WEIGHT OF RAILWAYS IN OUR INVESTMENTS INCREASED OVER 60 PERCENT

Transport Minister Karaismailoğlu said that electric and autonomous vehicles and urban micromobility vehicles are on their agenda, and that they are continuing their work in the field of digitalization and 5G infrastructure. Noting that they will launch the first domestic communication satellite Türksat 10A into space, which will enable Turkey to be among the 6 countries that can produce communication satellites, Karaismailoğlu stated that they have done great things in the last 20 years, but they have never been satisfied with them.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “We have invested 183 billion dollars. We have now entered a railway-oriented investment period from a 65 percent land-based investment period. The investment rate in the railway, which was 20 percent until today, has exceeded 60 percent today. Highway investments started to decrease towards 30 percent. Currently, there are 4 thousand 500 kilometers of railway investment in progress throughout Turkey. Hopefully, we will finish them gradually in the coming years and put them at the service of our country and our nation.

178 MILLION PASSENGERS USED ISTANBUL AIRPORT

Referring to mega projects such as Marmaray, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, Northern Marmara Highway, Istanbul Airport, Eurasia Tunnel, 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, Karaismailoğlu said that the number of vehicles passing through the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge in one day has reached 130 thousand, and that the number of vehicles using the Osmangazi Bridge is on average. He said he found 50.

Karaismailoğlu said, “It was chosen by all the authorities as the best airport in the world with its service quality and it breaks a record every month. To date, 1,2 million aircraft have carried 178 million passengers. With an average of 1400 planes and 230 thousand passengers in the summer, and an average of 1200 planes today, with nearly 200 thousand passengers, it will serve this country for many years and centuries," he said.

Karaismailoğlu noted that Istanbul International Sabiha Gökçen Airport also continued to grow, adding that the number of airports increased from 26 to 57. Karaismailoğlu stated that they realized 20 percent of their investments with the build-operate-transfer model, and that Istanbul Airport, which is among these projects, will serve Turkey for centuries.

WE WILL END THE ANKARA-SİVAS SPEED TRAIN LINE IN APRIL

Noting that they are currently operating the 1400-kilometer high-speed train line, they will descend from Niğde and Aksaray to Mersin and then deliver the high-speed train to Adana, Osmaniye and Gaziantep. Talking about the work done for the localization of the vehicles used on the railway, Karaismailoğlu shared the latest developments on the subject. THE CONTRIBUTION OF OUR INVESTMENTS TO NATIONAL INCOME 1 TRILLION DOLLARS

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu stated that they plan to invest 2053 billion dollars until 198 and continued his statement as follows:

“This will contribute exactly 1 trillion dollars to national income, 2 trillion dollars to production, and over 27 million people to employment. Today, the number of provinces connected to the high-speed train is 8. We will increase this to 52. We will increase our fiber length to 1,5 million kilometers and the number of ports to 255. Today, the number of passengers we carry by rail is 19,5 million. When our investments are complete, we will increase this to 270 million. Today, the annual number of passengers in the airline is 210 million. In 2053, this will increase to 344 million. Again, we carried 38 million tons of freight on the railway last year. As a result of these investments, we have prepared and continue all our investments to increase this amount to 448 million tons.”

Underlining that they have invested 183 billion dollars to date, Karaismailoğlu said, “The 183 billion dollars investment provides 28 billion dollars of annual savings. That's in just one year. Time savings of $19,4 billion. This is exactly 7 billion hours of savings. Vehicle maintenance savings of $1,3 billion. Fuel savings are 1,7 billion dollars and the reduction rate in accidents is 82 percent. In addition, the reduction in emissions due to these shortened roads is 36,7 million dollars. This is equivalent to 327 thousand trees in terms of trees," he said.
