Ankara Metropolitan Municipality allocated 100 simit glass cases in order to ensure the participation of disabled people in social life and to support them economically. 541 people selected among 100 people who applied with the drawing of lots, which were held live and in the presence of a notary public, got the right to operate the simit glass shop.
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Police Department continues to allocate bagel windows to disabled citizens living in the capital and having financial difficulties.
100 citizens, determined by the drawing of lots held live and in the presence of a notary public, will start selling on bread boats in the central districts of the capital as of January 1, 2023.
OBJECTIVE: TO PROVIDE ECONOMIC SUPPORT TO DISABLED CITIZENS
The Metropolitan Municipality aims to support people with disabilities economically by including them in social life in line with the principle of social municipality and the understanding of being a 'disabled friendly city'.
In this context, 541 people selected among 100 applicants in the drawing of lots held at the Police Department got the right to operate the bagel display cabinet.
Stating that they will continue to stand by the disabled citizens living in the capital city, Head of Police Department Olcay Erdal said, “A total of 100 disabled citizens applied for 541 simit glass cases for our disabled citizens. In order to make the necessary selection among these, the principal and alternate right holders were determined by drawing held in the presence of the 12th Notary Public in Ankara at the Police Department. Our eligible citizens who won the lottery will start operating simit display cabinets as of January 1, 2023. "After the citizens start operating the bagel shop windows, we will continue to control the shop windows with the delegations we formed," he said.
Participating in the lottery for the bagel display cabinet held at the Police Department, the Visually Impaired Federation Vice President Burhan Gümrükçü pointed out that the application provides employment to disabled citizens who live in Ankara and need financial support, and said, “The lottery for our disabled brothers was carried out with great sensitivity and care. The drawing of lots we are drawing today makes a great contribution to our brothers who are entitled. I would like to thank everyone who contributed,” he said.
