The risks to be covered next year, the products and premium support rates were determined by the Agricultural Insurance Pool of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (TARSİM).

The President's Decision on Risks, Products and Regions to be Covered by the Agricultural Insurance Pool in 2023 and Premium Support Rates was published in the Official Gazette.

With the decision, scope expansion studies were carried out in addition to the practices implemented in 2022.

Accordingly, a total of 134 discounts were made in the hail risk tariff price, and a 5 to 15 percent discount was made on the product in herbal product insurance. Wheat product tariff price was reduced by 6 percent. The double policy discount applied in Crop and Village Based Drought Yield Insurance was increased from 5 percent to 10 percent.

In tree insurance, a 5% "tree double policy discount" application was introduced for parcels with both tree and product policies in the same parcel.

In cherries and cherries, the collateral initiation was changed from the "first bloom" stage to the "white bud" stage.

Frost risk in artichokes (vegetables) was included in the scope of insurance as optional additional coverage.

In melon and watermelon, frost risk damage that will cause replanting during the seedling period is included in the coverage.

Frost risk damage that will cause re-planting in the seedling period in tomato, pepper, eggplant, melon and watermelon products grown in low tunnels in greenhouse production is covered by the coverage.

Co-insurance rates on kiwis, plums and apricots were reduced by 5 to 10 percent.

The risk of "wild boar damage" in low tunnels in greenhouse production is covered by the guarantee.

In greenhouse insurance, the cost of cover repair was increased from 250 lira to 1000 lira.

A 5 percent discount on the total policy premium was started in greenhouses that were determined to use geothermal resources within the scope of renewable energy resources.

DISCOUNT ON LIFE INSURANCE FOR ANIMALS

In cattle life insurance, a 6 percent discount was made in the tariff price for dairy cattle and 5 percent for beef cattle.

The cost of abortion, which was 15 percent in cattle life insurance, was increased to 20 percent. The exemption rate of 5 percent for the guarantee of "terror, strike, lockout, disorder, popular movements" has been removed.

A 5 percent discount was introduced for cattle breeding businesses that produce active biogas energy from a renewable energy source and are determined to use it according to the risk analysis result.

Within the scope of small cattle life insurance, the co-insurance rate was reduced from 30 percent to 20 percent for damages such as additional diseases, falling off a cliff, and wolf bites.

A 10% discount was made in the comprehensive tariff prices in poultry life insurance. Co-insurance, which was 20 percent in this insurance, was reduced to 10 percent.

A 10% discount was made in the tariff prices of aquaculture life insurance.

“Terrorism, strikes, lockouts, turmoil, popular movements” coverage was included as optional additional coverage in bovine, ovine, poultry and aquaculture life insurance.

FEMALE FARMERS DISCOUNT INCREASED

In all branches, the female farmer discount was increased from 5 percent to 10 percent. The young farmer age limit was increased from 30 to 40 in the young farmer discount.

For the first time, a 5% discount on "martyrs' relatives and veterans" was introduced in all insurance branches.

The regulations will be implemented within the scope of general conditions, tariffs and instructions for agricultural insurance branches.

The decision will enter into force on 1 January 2023.
