Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyercelebrated the new year of ESHOT drivers in the first shift of the day. Going to Adatepe Garage with the employees sohbet President Soyer visited the new resting area added to the facility. Stating that they will continue to set an example for Turkey in 2023, Mayor Soyer said, “You are the visible face of our municipality. May the work you do in 2023 give hope to all of us”.

The President, who went to ESHOT's Garage in Adatepe at 5 in the morning, met with the ESHOT employees who will make their first voyage. Tunç Soyerİzmir Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Barış Karcı, ESHOT General Manager Erhan Bey, Deputy General Managers Kader Sertpoyraz, Kerim Uğur, Eser Atak and İzmir Metropolitan Municipality bureaucrats accompanied him.
Rest area created out of nothing in Adatepe
with ESHOT employees sohbet President Soyer visited the recreation and administration building, which was converted from an idle area with the facilities of ESHOT, at the Adatepe facility. The building, which was put into service with the manual labor of ESHOT's workshop staff, included many areas from the tea room to the library, from the rest rooms to the administrative management.
“We will celebrate the 2023th anniversary of ESHOT in 80”
Addressing the ESHOT employees after the tour in the garage, President Soyer said, “You guys start work at this time every day. I know you are doing a really hard job. Every day, you become the visible face of our municipality at the point where you actually work. He who sees you actually sees the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Your positive and negative behaviors reflect on all of us. ESHOT is an 80-year-old institution. In 2023, we will celebrate our 80th anniversary together. An 80-year-old plane tree that is easy on the tongue. We are all a part of that plane tree and that plane tree will continue to live. I wish that the work you will do in 2023 will bring goodness to all of us, raise your morale, and hope for the future.”
“We will increase the number of female drivers to 170”
Celebrating the new year of the employees, Chairman Soyer said, “We are going through a difficult period in every sense. We are facing perhaps the most difficult period in Turkey together. Since the pandemic, we have not been able to lift our heads from troubles and disasters. We are now in a deep economic crisis. But I know we will get through this too. We will get through it together and we will continue to set an example for Turkey. This year, we want to increase the number of female drivers to 170. We will multiply more. We want our women to give more hands to İzmir. I wish each of you a safe and happy new year. May you be blessed to do your job with health, peace and smiling face. I am proud of you. Goodbye," he said.
