While the temperatures were above the seasonal norms throughout the country, almost all of the base areas where Mehmetçik worked on the border line and beyond began to be covered with snow. The lowest temperature at the weekend was minus 25 in the Binbir Kapi Base Area, with snow depths exceeding 20 centimeters in most of the base areas.

According to meteorological data, the temperature was above the seasonal norms throughout the country at the weekend. While snowfall is expected for the season to open even in the ski resorts, Mehmetçik's struggle against cold weather and snow, as well as the difficult terrain, has been going on for a month.

Snow thickness exceeded 312 centimeters in 20 of the domestic and cross-border base areas affiliated to our Land Forces Command. In the Misalok Base Area in the north of Iraq, the snow depth approached one meter.

While temperatures fell below zero in more than half of the base areas, the coldest night was minus 25 in the Binbir Kapi Base Area in the Ikiyaka Mountains.
