The new 106-kilometer-long high-speed train (YHT) line connecting the cities of Mengzi and Mile in the southwestern province of China, Yunnan, was put into operation. The construction of the said high-speed train line started in June 2018. In this process, a total of 52 bridges and ten tunnels were built in order to overcome the difficult geological structure of the region.

This railway line forms an important part of the railway network between the southwestern region of China and the ASEAN countries. China Railway Kunming Bureau Group Co., Ltd. This rail network will play a positive role in accelerating the urbanization process of rural ethnic areas around the line, said Shi Liang, Deputy Director of the Passenger Transport Department.
