The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change initiated the EIA process for the Örnekköy-New Grine Tram line project by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Rail System Department.
In the statement made by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, “İzmir province Karşıyaka The PTD File submitted to our İZMİR Governorship regarding the Tram Line project between Örnekköy-Yeni Girne Main Line, which is planned to be built by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, Rail System Department, located in the district of Örnekköy-Bostanlı Districts Arası, was examined in accordance with the 16th article of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulation and related to the project. The EIA Process has started”.
900 MILLION TL BUDGET
After the EIA application, details about the project emerged. The construction period of the project, which is included in the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality's 2030 Izmir Transportation Master Plan, was recorded as 15 months. The Metropolitan has allocated a budget of 64 million 127 thousand 8 TL for the project, which is aimed at 103 thousand 912 daily and 739 thousand 187 hours of passengers.

The 9-kilometer line with 5 stops, which will serve between Örnekköy and Yeni Girne, will start from the Bostanlı Pier Tram stop and end in the continuation of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Örnekköy Urban Transformation zone.
