Toy Workshop in Diyarbakır Reopened Its Doors

The “I Make My Own Toy Project”, which was opened by Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality at the Cemil Paşa Mansion City Museum and benefited by children aged 7-12, has started again.

The Department of Culture and Social Affairs has re-launched the "I Make My Own Toy Project" in order to keep children away from the harmful effects of computers and the internet, and to increase their communication with each other, enable them to socialize, and bring them together with games and toys.

Children who benefit from the Toy Workshop will be able to make toys such as cardboard airplanes, rag dolls and wire cars with the education they receive. Children enjoy the joy of having fun together by playing games such as handkerchief snatch, hide-and-seek and blindfold between lessons.

Project manager Vildan Erdin said that all materials and materials used in the workshop were provided by Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality.

Stating that each course period lasts about 2 months, Erdin stated that the children had a lot of fun in the course and they made toys with great enthusiasm.

Pointing out that children mostly know the names of the games they play on the internet, Erdin said:

“Our aim is to transfer the forgotten traditional games and toys to today's children, to steer them away from negative activities that will affect their development and direct them to more educational studies”

Parents who want to enroll their children in the course, which lasts 5 days a week, should apply to the Cemil Paşa Mansion City Museum.
