Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu attended the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy and Action Plan introductory meeting. Karaismailoğlu, underlining that they have increased the railway network to 13 thousand 150 kilometers, and that as the Ministry, they have implemented a 320 kilometer rail system project in urban transportation, he announced that the railway investment budget, which is currently ongoing together with the urban rail systems, is 27 billion dollars.

Emphasizing that they are doing very important work on railways, especially on railway vehicles, Karaismailoğlu said that they have completed the work to produce the first national and domestic electric train with a speed of 160 kilometers per hour. Expressing that they have passed 10 thousand kilometers in the tests, Karaismailoğlu said that they will start mass production after receiving the certificate soon. Also, underlining that the designs of vehicles with a speed of 225 kilometers continue, Karaismailoğlu stated that they will first produce their prototypes and then they will start mass production. Noting that there will be a market of 2035 billion dollars for railway vehicles only for Turkey by 17.5, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu drew attention to the fact that they will complete this domestically and nationally to a large extent.

We increased our railway network to 13 thousand 150 kilometers. As the Ministry, we implemented the 320 kilometer rail system project in urban transportation. A total of 13 kilometers of rail system line construction continues in 177 projects under construction by our Ministry.
