President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, with the participation of Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security, and Özgür Burak Akkol, Chairman of the Turkish Employer Unions Confederation (TİSK), announced to the public the minimum wage figure that will be valid in 2023 at a press conference held at the Presidential Complex. Accordingly, the minimum wage to be applied for 2023 was determined as 10 thousand 8 TL in gross and 8 thousand 506,80 TL in net.

The net minimum wage, which was 2002 TL in 184, was determined as 2023 thousand 8 TL in 506,80. Compared to the end of 2002, the net minimum wage was increased by 2023 percent in real terms for 264,3, and 46 times in nominal terms.

Income of all wage earners up to the minimum wage level was excluded from income and stamp tax, and not only workers but all employees were included in the legislation. In addition, monthly additional payments of up to 30 TL to be made by the employer to the employee for electricity, natural gas and other heating expenses until 2023 June 1000 are exempted from income tax and insurance premiums. The meal cost, paid in cash to the employee by the employer, was determined as 55 TL per day, and the amount up to 51 TL was exempted from income tax and insurance premiums.

The minimum wage to be applied for 2023 has been determined as 10.008,00 TL in gross and 8.506,80 TL in net. Like this; The rate of increase in the net minimum wage was 2022 percent compared to 100 and 2021 percent compared to December 200. In dollar terms, it was 54,65%. Despite currency fluctuations, the minimum wage was set at $457 in dollar terms.
