Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which carries out a new project every day in order to ensure equality of opportunity in education, will provide canteen support to the children of families receiving social assistance. Announcing on his social media accounts that families will charge 330 TL per person per month for their children's canteen expenses to their Başkent Cards, ABB President Mansur Yavaş said, “After the New Year's, we are starting the canteen shopping period with Başkent Card, first in the pilot regions, and then throughout Ankara, for the children of our families receiving social assistance. We will be taking a valuable step for the nutrition of our children by supporting 330 lira per month per student.”
Continuing its services in line with the understanding of social municipality, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its “student-friendly” practices without interruption.
ABB will deposit 330 TL per person per month to the Başkent Cards of families receiving social assistance from the beginning of the year to cover their children's canteen expenses.
The support, which will start in the pilot districts at the first stage, is expected to reach 60 thousand students in the future.
The support of the Metropolitan Municipality for the canteen expenses of the children of the families receiving social assistance will be loaded on the Başkent Cards and the balances can only be used for canteen expenses.

ABB President Mansur Yavaş, who made the statement about the canteen support on his social media accounts, said, “Equality of opportunity is needed not only in education but also in life. We are always here for our children.” In his video statement, Yavaş said:
“We sadly follow our children who go to school and go hungry at school every day in the news. The most effective of these was the news that there were children crying in schools because of hunger. This news increases our responsibility even more. For this reason, we are starting the canteen shopping period for the children of our families receiving social assistance, first in the pilot regions and then in the whole Ankara, after the New Year. We will have taken a valuable step for the nutrition of our children by supporting 330 lira per student per month… SMA test, child screening test, kindergartens, natural gas support, meat support, stationery support, student subscription, student water discount, free internet, shelter centers, exam fee payments, technology centers… These are all for our children… Our biggest project should be to remove generations of poverty from being an unfortunate future for our children, and to have a bright future by completing their development and education.”
