Under the coordination of TCDD Transportation General Directorate, Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), the seventh group "Goodness Train", consisting of 24 wagons and carrying aid materials provided with the support of non-governmental organizations (NGO), was sent off from Ankara to Afghanistan.

AFAD President Yunus Sezer, TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ General Manager Ufuk Yalçın, Turkish Red Crescent International Affairs and Migration Services General Manager Alper Küçük and representatives of NGOs attended the ceremony.

The farewell ceremony of the 18th “Goodness Train” started with a moment of silence for Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and our martyrs and the singing of our National Anthem.

In his speech at the ceremony, AFAD President Yunus Sezer thanked the non-governmental organizations that contributed to the “Goodness Train”.

Emphasizing that 2022 has become a year of mobilization for goodness, Sezer said, “We are really a beautiful country, we have beautiful people. Under the leadership of our President, together with our Minister of Interior and other ministers, we sent a caravan of kindness to many countries in 2022.” said.

Describing the aid made in 2022, Sezer said, “We are a big country. We do not only worry about our own problems, we reach out to wherever there is an oppressed state other than us.” he said.

“In 2022, 13 thousand 7 tons of aid materials will be delivered to Pakistan by 330 trains, and 7 thousand 637 tons of aid materials will be delivered to Afghanistan, a friendly and brotherly country”

TCDD Transportation General Manager Ufuk Yalçın stated that the aid transported by trains helped to eliminate the deprivation of millions of Afghans and said, “This year, 13 trains and 7 thousand 330 tons to Pakistan, which was affected by the flood disaster, and 7 thousand 637 tons to the friendly and brotherly country Afghanistan, with the train we will send off today. We will have delivered tons of aid materials.” he said.

Alper Küçük also stated that as Kızılay, they take great pride in lending a helping hand without being a spectator to the human tragedies in all corners of the world, adding, "Even if everyone forgets Afghanistan, we do not forget it." said.

Representatives of non-governmental organizations also stated that Turkey stands by the oppressed and aggrieved peoples all over the world with the aim of serving people, regardless of language, religion or race, that aid is delivered by train, ship and plane, and that these aids protect our country from many calamities.

After the prayers, the seventh group, the 18th "Goodness Train", was sent off to Afghanistan.
