5 Different Green Product Programs Will Be Supported With BUTEXCOMP

The "Green Product Grant Program Call for SMEs" was initiated within the scope of the "Composite Materials and Technical Textile Prototype Production and Application Center (BUTEXCOMP)" carried out by the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO). With the said call, 5 different green product programs will be supported.

Within the scope of the European Green Agreement with BUTEXCOMP, it is aimed to support networking in the value chain of the technical textile and composite material sectors and to introduce new green products. On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, an information seminar was held with the participation of experts and academicians within the scope of the 'Green Product Grant Program for SMEs', which was called on BUTEXCOMP's website butexcomp.org.

SECTOR REPRESENTATIVES HAVE BEEN INFORMED

With the project, it is aimed to realize green/environmental/environmentally sensitive/reducing environmental impacts of new product development projects of companies in the technical textile and composite sectors operating in Bursa. It is aimed that new green products will emerge from the region with the projects to be implemented with the support of BUTEXCOMP's expert staff and advanced infrastructure.

An information seminar on the project was held. BUTEKOM Academic Advisor and Bursa Uludağ University Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karahan and BUTEXCOMP Innovation Specialist Mutlu Sezen introduced the Green Product Program. In the said meeting, Irem Özgür Görgün, European Union Expert at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union Presidency, Green Deal and EU Funds; Bursa Uludag University Environmental Engineering Department Lecturer Assoc. Dr. Efsun Dindar, Circular Economy and Recycling; TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center Environment and Cleaner Production Institute Specialist Researcher Dr. Recep Partal gave information on Support for SMEs to Develop Green Products and Resource Efficiency Practices.

EXPERTISE AND MENTORING SUPPORT WILL BE PROVIDED

Noting that green transformation has turned into an important parameter in all areas of life, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karahan said, “We want to create an important awareness in the green transformation process with BUTEXCOMP, which is run by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry. We want companies to design processes and methods that will reduce carbon emissions, pollute the environment less, use more natural resources, and provide more savings in production, efficiency and labor, both on the basis of product and production processes. We will select 5 of these projects and ensure that they are supported. Supports in terms of both expertise and mentorship will be valid for the implementation of the method proposed by the company.” said.

LAST DAY FOR APPLICATION 30 DECEMBER

Until the call closing date, the application form at butexcomp.org can be filled in online. The 'Guidelines for Applicants' document also provides guidance for the application process. Applications will continue to be received until 30 on Friday, December 2022, 23.59. After the evaluations to be made in the first month of 2023 by experts in the field, the projects to be supported will be determined. The announcement of the projects that are entitled to support will be made in February and the grant contracts will be signed.

WHAT IS THE COMPETITIVE SECTORS PROGRAM?

Composite Material and Technical Textile Prototype Production and Application Center Technical Assistance Project is financed within the framework of financial cooperation of the European Union and the Republic of Turkey. The project is carried out within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Program carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. The Competitive Sectors Program is a financial aid program that supports projects with a budget of approximately 800 million Euros. The program, which has been carried out since 2007, aims at social and economic development by increasing the competitiveness of industrialists, SMEs and entrepreneurs in different regions of Turkey.
