So far, 44 new generation Ivolga 3.0 trains have been delivered to Moscow. 11 modern subway trains are being tested without passengers. The operation of all equipment and communication systems of the train is controlled in this way. Some have already completed the break-in period. Ivolga 3.0 trains will run on the future MCD-3 and MCD-4. In the train acceptance process, the Moscow Metro places high demands on the quality of rolling stock, its comfort and safety for future passengers.

These trains are purchased by the Moscow Metro using an infrastructure loan allocated by the Russian Government in October 2021, including the purchase of trains for possible diameters. The second loan was approved in July 2022. Its total amount is more than 106 billion RUB. These funds will also be used to purchase cars for the under-construction sections of metro lines, including BCL.

«The renewal of rolling stock is an important part of the work on the new MCD-2023 and MCD-3, both of which will be launched on behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin by 4. Infrastructure loans enable the active renewal of rolling stock. for new transport arteries. This important decision not only contributes to the development of the railway infrastructure of the Moscow region, but also makes possible the development of the national economy. “This is an important support for Russian manufacturers, which allows them to receive new orders and keep their business,” said Moscow Deputy Mayor for Transport Maksim Liksutov.

Next Generation Ivolga Train

The new Ivolga 3.0 is 100% Russian made and manufactured at Tver Carriage Works (part of JSC Transmashholding). It is more convenient than previous models. Seat armrests, more USB chargers and electric scooter chargers have also appeared on the new train. It will also be possible to transport wide-wheeled bicycles on bicycle hangers. All the comfortable services of the previous Ivolga have been preserved: trains do not have an aisle, the doors will remain wide. There is enough space in the cabin to put a wheelchair. There are also places for disabled passengers.

Rolling stock refurbishment for MCD-3 and MCD-4 continues – Transmashholding has delivered 3 new EP5D trains to the carrier Central Exurban Passenger Company in preparation for the MCD-2 launch.
