Treasury and Finance Minister Nureddin Nebati stated that they have determined the income tax tariff to be applied in 2023 wage incomes.

Minister Nabati made the following statements in his statement on his social media account:

“We have determined the income tax tariff to be applied in 2023 wage incomes. We are increasing the first tranche of the income tax tariff from 32 thousand liras to 70 thousand liras, the second tranche from 70 thousand liras to 150 thousand liras, the third tranche from 250 thousand liras to 550 thousand liras, and the fourth one from 880 thousand liras to 1,9 million liras. The 54,5 percent increase in the minimum wage was also reflected in the income tax and stamp duty exemption; thereby reducing the tax paid by wage earners.

In 2023, due to the minimum wage exemption that we continue to apply, all wage earners will be exempt from income and stamp tax from their annual wages amounting to 120 thousand 96 liras. In other words, we will not collect a total of 16 liras of tax, including 916,32 thousand 911,53 liras of income tax and 17 liras of stamp duty, from each employee who earns wage income. In addition, we are increasing the food allowance exemption amount that we increased to 827,85 liras in July this year, to 51 liras, and to 110 liras, which we increased to 25,5 liras. Thus, monthly 56 thousand 2 lira meal allowance and 860 thousand 456 lira travel allowance payments will be paid to the employees as tax exemption. Good luck to all our employees.”
