Sponsored by the National Energy Investment Corporation, the “Come on! The winners of the “Green Futures” China and Turkey Generation Z Photography Contest have been announced.
As of November 9, a total of 23 works submitted by young people and photographers from Turkey and abroad participated in the competition, which officially started on November 1018th. As a result of the examination of works covering many dimensions such as China-Turkey green energy construction, ecological environmental protection and folk traditions, 1 first place, 3 second place, 6 third place and 10 excellence awards were selected.
Chinese Sisi Xin, who participated in the competition with the photo "Bosphorus and Boğaziçi University", told the story behind this photo. Xin, who visited Boğaziçi University to learn about Turkish history and believes that inter-school education and visit programs play an important role in promoting the cultural exchange of the youth of China and Turkey, said that the special location of the Bosphorus allows Eastern and Western cultures to meet here. Feeling the diverse and inclusive campus atmosphere of Boğaziçi University during his visits, Xin stated that the school provides them with many opportunities for cultural exchange.
Sunan Wei, a photographer from Beibu Körfez University who took a very creative group photo using plastic bags, also has his own ideas for environmental protection.
Pointing out that plastic bags are always randomly thrown as garbage and disappear completely after hundreds of years in nature, Wei pointed out that this situation will not only cause environmental pollution, but also threaten the life of some animals. Wei aims to attract people's attention and make them think about nature with his frame that tells us that we are surrounded by plastic all the time.
In the competition, many Turkish participants also focused on the daily life of Turkish people, showing folk traditions such as drying peppers, grazing and traditional holiday celebrations, and showed people a Turkey with a rich culture and full of life scent.
