Another problem such as climate change and global warming is global darkening. If we define global darkening; We can say that it is an environmental problem that occurs when the sunlight reaching the Earth is blocked by various particles and thus reduced.

The sun, which is one of the most important things that ensures the continuity of life in the world, has difficulty in transmitting its light and heat to the world. The reason for this is the accumulation of various particles that refract the sun's light between the sun and the earth.

These particles can be particulate matter, ie carbon products and soot, originating from industrial establishments, airplanes, vehicle exhausts. With the entry of these particles into the atmosphere, the light reaching the earth decreased and this situation dates back to the 1950s. Global dimming is also more optimistically called global dimming.

How Was Global Darkening Discovered?

Global darkening was first discovered in 1980 by an Israeli agricultural biologist named Gerald Stanhill. Comparing the sunlight received by Israel in the 1950s and 1980, Gerald observed that the sunlight decreased by 1980 percent in 22 and began to investigate the factors that could cause this.

Does Global Darkening Affect Global Warming Positively or Negatively?

Global darkening and global warming are concepts that express the destruction in the world as a result of human activities. With the effects of global warming, glaciers melt, sea level rises, large amounts of water on earth evaporate and mix with the atmosphere, and strong winds and tsunamis can occur. Global warming means that the world is warming more than normal, while global dimming means that the world cannot receive light from the sun. These two concepts can actually create a driving force that can destroy the effects of each other. Global dimming can somehow slow down the negative effects of global warming, but this slowdown cannot be said to be sufficient. In order to prevent global darkening, it is necessary to take serious measures about the amount of carbon particles released into the atmosphere.

Scientists have not been able to reach a consensus on the relationship between global warming and global darkening. The general view is that the effects of global warming are less visible due to the effects of global dimming, but this situation is temporary. Scientists warn that the effects of global warming will accelerate over time and that precautions should be taken at this point.

Scientists working within the NASA Space Sciences Institute also state that the Earth is now dark as well as being hot due to global warming.
