The Ministry of Youth and Sports is building swimming pools across the country in order to teach swimming and to train champion athletes. While the number of swimming pools, which was 2002 before 46, was increased to 610, Minister Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu reminded that in the first days he took office, he made sentences ending with "We will build facilities, we will win medals," and said, "Thank God, we are proud of fulfilling our promises today. We will continue to work with the same determination.” said.

Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu stated that they are proud of fulfilling their promises in the past and said that the medals won by the national swimmers are an important result of the infrastructure revolution.

Our national swimmers draw attention with their historical achievements in recent years. Olympic and semi-olympic pools built throughout the country have a great contribution to the records broken and medals won in international championships. In line with the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, swimming pools were built all over Turkey in order to both teach swimming to children and train champion athletes.

While the number of Olympic and Semi-Olympic swimming pools, which was 2002 before 46, was increased to 215, the number of swimming pools reached 395 with the completion of 610 of the steel construction swimming pool project.

“Now we use different sentences”

Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu reminded that in the first days he took office, he used to make sentences ending with "We will build the end, we will do it, we will win medals," and said, "Now we are making different sentences. Thankfully, we are proud to deliver on the promises we made today. We will continue to work with the same determination.” said.

Emphasizing that they attach special importance to swimming, Minister Kasapoğlu said, “We used to be sad when we watched international swimming races on television because we did not have national athletes. Although our country is surrounded by seas on 3 sides, we could not be successful in swimming. With the aim of reversing this situation and becoming a sports nation, we undertook an important mission to spread sports in the country under the leadership of President Erdoğan. We have built swimming pools for easy access of our people. Our national athletes are now breaking records and winning countless medals in the swimming branch, where we had difficulty finding even athletes before. I would like to thank all my fellow athletes, coaches and their families who make our country proud with their achievements.”

“I think better days await us.”

Emphasizing that swimming pools were built in every city from Edirne to Hakkari, Minister Kasapoğlu said;

“There is serious support from all walks of life for our project, Let No One Who Can't Swim. We cooperate with our municipalities. Since the start of the project, approximately 5 million of our children have been taught to swim with the steel construction pools we have built across the country. We will continue this valuable work until there is not a single child in our country who cannot swim. I believe that the champion athletes of the future will emerge thanks to this project. I think better days await us in the field of sports.”
