The Law on Amending the Income Tax Law and Some Laws and Decrees for natural gas assistance to employees was recently published in the Official Gazette. According to the law, the additional monthly payment not exceeding 30 TL made by employers to employees in return for electricity, natural gas and other heating expenses until 2023 June 1,000 will not be included in the earnings subject to premium and income tax will not be calculated over this amount.
Employees who have difficulties in paying their natural gas bills after successive hikes have their eyes on a thousand liras to be paid for natural gas and heating expenses. Until June, a total of 8 thousand lira support will be given to employees by employers.
Natural Gas Assistance to Employees in the Official Gazette
The Law on the Amendment of the Income Tax Law and Some Laws and Decrees, which includes social security supports for employees and employers, was published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.

To Whom Will Natural Gas Assistance Be Given to Employees?
The employer has to give this payment in addition to the monthly wage of the employee. An additional payment of 1.000 lira must be made on top of the fee. Private sector businesses will benefit from electricity and heating support.
Making these payments to employees is not mandatory for employers, it is optional. Therefore, all private sector employees will not benefit from heating and natural gas assistance of 1000 TL, it can only be applied in workplaces where the employer wants to pay 1000 TL.
