Gaziray, which is the fourth longest line of urban rail transportation in Turkey and will greatly relieve urban transportation in Gaziantep, will serve more than 3 thousand passengers daily. Gaziray will be put into service today with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Gaziray, which will provide modern suburban service in the comfort of the subway between Başpınar and Oduncular in Gaziantep, was laid on April 21, 2018. The project was carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality.

With the Project, which aims to create sufficient traffic capacity for high-speed train, conventional train and suburban operations, a new signaled and electrified railway was built between Başpınar-Gaziantep-Oduncular. The project will connect the city center of Gaziantep and two industrial zones, and will give a breath of fresh air to urban traffic.

The green texture of the city was preserved

Within the scope of the Gaziray Project, a total of 2 km of new railways were built within a 2 km route, including 25,5 suburban lines and 112 high-speed train lines. In this way, metro-type public transportation service is also offered to the hotels and hospitals region. With the 5 km underground work, the opportunity to work without touching the green areas in the aboveground planning was created, and the green texture of the city was preserved.

The electric train sets to be used in GAZİRAY are produced by TÜRASAŞ, the largest representative of the rail systems sector in our country.

30 minutes between Başpınar and Oduncular

Within the scope of the project, Gaziantep station area became a transfer center by integrating it with urban transportation. Gaziray, which will reduce the travel time between Başpınar and Oduncular to 30 minutes, will serve more than 300 thousand passengers daily after it is put into service at full capacity.
