Çankaya's Accessible Classroom Celebrated its 20th Anniversary

The Barrier-Free Classroom, operating under the Cankaya Municipality Visually Impaired Sports Club, celebrated its 20th anniversary. With the support of volunteer teachers, thousands of students from primary school to university and preparing for the Disabled Public Personnel Selection Exam have climbed the ladder of success in the Barrier-Free Classroom.

The Barrier-Free Classroom, which continues its activities within the scope of Çankaya Municipality Visually Impaired Sports Club, celebrated its 20th anniversary. The Barrier-Free Classroom, which was established to support the education and training life of visually impaired children of all ages, has become a hope for thousands of children from repetition of lessons to preparation for exams.

Yusuf Sayyidan, who gave information about the Barrier-Free Classroom, thanked everyone who supported them, stating that the contributions of Çankaya Municipality and university volunteer teachers gave them the opportunity to achieve success in the 20 years of continuous work. Sayyidan stated that they organize studies for primary school students, lectures for secondary school students and preparation for exams, as well as preparation for university and preparation for the Disabled Public Personnel Selection Examination. Sayyidan stated that nearly 500 students have benefited from the classroom facilities so far and said, “We are very happy to see our students as appointed teachers, who have graduated from university, graduated from school, and to see them as civil servants who have passed the public personnel exam with disabilities, and it shows that we have achieved our goal. We would like to thank our Mayor and all Çankaya Municipality employees for their unwavering support.”
