The agreement rate with the beneficiaries reached 120 percent in the first phase of the project, which is planned by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality to turn Istanbul Street into a showcase of the city with a privileged urban transformation. While the reconciliation negotiations continue, the immovables of the right holders who did not sign a contract or did not participate in the negotiations will be put up for sale by auction method within the scope of the law numbered 89.

While eliminating the risky building stock that is at risk of collapse in a possible earthquake with urban transformation projects, the Metropolitan Municipality, which aims to give the city a modern look, has accelerated its work on the Istanbul Street Urban Transformation Project. In the Beşyol Urban Transformation Project, which was initiated with the aim of giving a modern look to Istanbul Street, which is Bursa's gateway to Istanbul, but where visual pollution is experienced with unplanned buildings and irregular repair shops, on the one hand, constructions are increasing, on the other hand, there is a 240 thousand square meter area covering Beşyol Junction and its surroundings. Reconciliation talks with the rights holders and demolitions continue. In the first phase of the project, which will turn Istanbul Street into a real showcase, the agreement rate with the 'right holders' reached 120 percent. While the reconciliation negotiations continue, the immovables of the right holders who did not sign a contract or did not participate in the negotiations will be put up for sale by auction method within the scope of the law numbered 89.

Meanwhile, within the scope of the transformation project, the construction of the project, which consists of 30 shops, 118 offices and 193 residences, continues rapidly. The Metropolitan Municipality will use the 13 shops, 77 offices and 103 residences to be obtained from this project as reserve residences and shops for the Istanbul Street 1st Stage Transformation Area. The beneficiaries of the settlement will be able to buy residences, offices or shops from this project.

Transformation in progress

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş reminded that from time to time, misleading information is deliberately given to the public in order to undermine or interrupt the transformation process in the region, and said that there is no question of suspension or stopping of the transformation in Istanbul Street. Noting that the expectations of the citizens are high in urban transformations, Mayor Aktaş said, “We are putting our best effort to meet the expectations at the highest level and taking the responsibility. We carry out transformation works within the framework of rules and regulations, in accordance with the law. In this context, the transformation in Istanbul Street continues in stages. With this project, both the showcase of the city at the entrance to Bursa from Istanbul will be completely renewed and the value of the region will increase.”
