Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay launched the Dar-ül Mülk/Turkey's Biggest Revival Project. Stating that they will carry Konya to a much better future in unity and solidarity, Mayor Altay said, “Today is a historical day for our Konya. With our Historical City Center Urban Transformation Projects; We will unearth Dar-ül Mulk, revive the Seljuk capital and add a unique value to our civilization heritage.” said. Stating that they are working with the most important architects of Turkey, Mayor Altay stated that the total cost of 20 different urban renewal, transformation and restoration works they will implement in the historical city center will reach 7 Billion 321 Million 800 Thousand TL. AK Party Deputy Chairman and Konya Deputy Leyla Şahin Usta thanked everyone who contributed to these works, which will bring the 2023 and 2053 visions to life after the foundations of the 2071 vision for Turkey were laid.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay announced the details of Turkey's largest revival project, which consists of 20 different urban renewal, transformation and restoration works in the historical city center.
The history of Dar-ül Mülk Konya was first explained by Turkish Medieval Historian and Writer Erkan Göksu in the program held at the Selçuklu Congress Center.
Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay said that the urbanization adventure that started with Çatalhöyük has continued for 10 thousand years; He started his speech by stating that they lived in a city resembling an open-air museum, rising with a wealth of knowledge ranging from the Hittites to Rome, from Rome to the Seljuks, from the Seljuks to the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey.

We have implemented many projects, one by one, reflecting the ancient traces of Seljuk and Ottoman architecture, worthy of Konya's title of 'Dâr-ül Mülk', especially in terms of zoning activities and restoration works.” he said.

Within the scope of Dar-ül Mülk Project, where we work with the most important architects of Turkey; We are carrying out 20 different urban renewal, transformation and restoration works in our historical city center. Before all these projects, everything started with a dream for us. But this was not a dream that suddenly came to mind or flashed in minds like lightning. It was a dream that rose from the hundreds of years of adventure of our city, its belonging, its vitality and all the values that make our Konya Konya. Today, we are happy to have realized an important part of these dreams we have set for our Konya. Our work continues uninterruptedly for the remaining parts.” said.

Kılıçarslan Mansion and Excavation Site Project, Square Houses Restoration Project, Mevlana and Şems House Reconstruction Project, Mevlana Street Renovation Project, Sarraflar Underground Bazaar Renovation Project, City Library Reconstruction Project, Old Industrial School Restoration Project, Urban Transformation Project Around Piri Mehmet Paşa Mosque , Cheese Bazaar Urban Transformation Project, Gevraki Han Renovation Project, Larende Street and Historical Walls Urban Renewal Project, Sırçalı Madrasa Around – sahibindenata Urban Transformation Project, Şükran Neighborhood Urban Transformation Project, Behind the Tomb Urban Renewal Project, which consists of 20 different works. Stating that 7 Billion 321 Million 800 Thousand TL will be spent when all projects are implemented, Mayor Altay stated that they will revive Konya with the projects they will implement until the end of 2027.

Meram Mayor Mustafa Kavuş gave information about the Şükran Neighborhood Project, which is carried out in partnership with the Metropolitan Municipality. Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca also gave information about the Urban Renewal Work Behind the Tomb, which they carried out together with the Metropolitan Municipality. Our project has just finished. Our Board also approved this project. Hopefully, we will start the tender processes in a short time and lay the foundation.” said.
