Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has largely completed the infrastructure and superstructure works on the side road of the D-100 Highway in Izmit. Within the scope of the study, the crossing from the Kandıra turn to the side road in the direction of Istanbul was expanded. The traffic flow on the side road extending from the Kandıra turn to the Courthouse Bridge was directed towards Istanbul.
NORTH SIDE ROAD EXTENDED
The north side road widening project, which was renewed with a length of 100 meters and a width of 7 meters, accelerated the traffic flow. Accordingly, within the scope of infrastructure and superstructure, 600 square meters of printed concrete, 1400 meters of andesite borders, 200 cubic meters of 500 meters of curb stone walls, 4 thousand 500 tons of asphalt paving and 100 meters of rain water line were built, and the flow of traffic in the region was changed.
TRAFFIC DIRECTION HAS CHANGED
Metropolitan teams, which laid a rain water line on the D-100 side road, also made a median arrangement on the way back to the National Will Square. Traffic flowing in the direction of Ankara will move towards Istanbul with the new arrangement. Coming from the direction of Istanbul, the turns to Eastern Barracks will be removed from Real AVM.
