Old and neglected parks of the capital are being renewed

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which started renovation works in the old and neglected parks of the capital, carried out maintenance-repair work in the "Butterfly Park" in Etimesgut district.

While the pool was made usable after the works, it was ensured that the park was accessible without any discrimination between disabled and handicapped. In addition, the number of green areas and trees in the park has been increased.

Continuing its activities in line with its goal of “Capital of the Green”, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality is also renovating the parks, which are idle due to neglect, giving them a modern look.

Increasing the number of green spaces that will give the city a breath of fresh air, ABB has recently renewed the “Butterfly Park” in Etimesgut district and opened it to the use of the citizens of the Capital.

THE PARK RENOVATED FROM A TO Z

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş announced that the park was renovated and put into service with a post on his social media accounts. Yavaş made the following statements in his post:

“With our vision of the Green Capital, we renovated the Kelebeksu Park in Etimesgut at a cost of 3 million 448 thousand TL. We have increased the green areas in our park, which we have made accessible without disability and barrier-free discrimination, and we have given it a modern look with landscaping.”

Revision work was carried out in the park, which has an area of 41 thousand square meters, with a cost of approximately 3 million 448 thousand TL. As part of the works carried out by the Environmental Protection and Control Department, the electrical components of the approximately 14 thousand square meter pool were renewed, and necessary measures were taken to save water.

The park, which was opened in 2014 and fell into disrepair shortly after its opening, has become more modern with the landscaping. While the park and urban furniture in the area were renewed, the number of green areas and trees in the park, which consists of islets in the pool, was also increased.

The “Butterfly Park”, where there are various sports fields, has been renewed from A to Z by making it accessible without any discrimination between disabled and non-handicapped.
