Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu pointed out that they have started a very important stage with the first rail source of the new generation transportation project Kazlıçeşme-Sirkeci Rail System Project and announced that they aim to put the project into service in the first quarter of 2023.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu attended the first rail welding ceremony of Kazlıçeşme-Sirkeci Rail System Project. Making a statement at the ceremony, Karaismailoğlu noted that they continue their investments that will meet the needs of the future in the most accurate way with nearly 5 thousand employees at nearly 700 thousand construction sites throughout Turkey. Karaismailoğlu stated that these works will be one of the most important milestones of the “Turkish Century” and said, “Our country; We are not content with what we do, regardless of the east, west, north, south, village-town or metropolis, we work 7 days, 24 hours, with the motivation of the first day to present our new investments to our nation as soon as possible. And of course, we continue to revive our 2003 provinces in terms of transportation and communication investments since 81, with our services, which will not end with counting, and a new one is added every day.”

WE CONTINUE OUR POLITICS OF SERVICE AND WORKS IN ISTANBUL

Karaismailoğlu stated that they continue their service and work policy in Istanbul, one of the world's leading metropolises, as they are in all four corners of Turkey, and continued as follows:

“Only in October we left behind, we witnessed a period when huge transportation projects from east to west of Turkey were implemented and the foundations of new ones were laid. Only during the month of October; We opened our Pendik-Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro Line and put it into the service of Istanbulites. Then, we opened the Ayvacık-Küçükkuyu Road and Troy-Assos tunnels, one of our vision projects, in Çanakkale. We put the Malatya-Hekimhan Road, which connects Malatya to Sivas, into service as a divided road. We opened Diyarbakır Ring Road and Bitlis Ring Road and its Junction into service. We laid the foundation of the Balıkesir Northwest Ring Road and opened the Bandırma Differential Interchange. Yesterday, we held the delivery ceremony of the first tram vehicle of our Kayseri Tram line.”

GAZİANTEP GETS A FAST, SAFE AND COMFORTABLE TRANSPORTATION OPPORTUNITY WITH GAZİRAY

Underlining that they started a very important stage with the first rail source in Kazlıçeşme-Sirkeci Rail System project, which is not only an urban rail system project, but also a pedestrian-oriented new generation transportation project, Karaismailoğlu said that one of the important projects for Turkey will be the new transportation in Gaziantep tomorrow. He said that they will put GAZİRAY into service with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu pointed out that GAZİRAY, which connects 6 organized industrial zones and the city center, has a length of 25 kilometers and has 16 stations, will offer fast, safe and comfortable transportation.

WE MOVED ISTANBUL TO A DIFFERENT POINT BEYOND DREAMS

Emphasizing that they have implemented mega projects one by one to make Istanbul one of the cities with the most developed transportation infrastructure in Europe and the world, Karaismailoğlu said that to date, Marmaray, Eurasia Tunnel, Istanbul Airport, Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge and Northern Marmara Highway, Osmangazi Bridge and Istanbul He stated that with mega projects such as İzmir Highway and İstanbul-Ankara YHT Line, they carried İstanbul to a completely different point beyond dreams. In addition to all these, Karaismailoğlu noted that they have implemented the world's most original and advanced urban rail system projects in Istanbul, and explained that they have equipped Istanbul with modern rail system networks from one end to the other.

KAĞITHANE- ISTANBUL AIRPORT AND BAŞAKŞEHİR- KAYAŞEHİR METRO LINES ARE IN THE LINE.

Underlining that Marmaray has carried nearly 800 million passengers, that is, approximately 9,5 times the country's population and 50 times that of Istanbul, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Karaismailoğlu, said, "As of the moment, in Istanbul; Gayrettepe-Kağıthane-Istanbul Airport Metro Line, Halkalı- Başakşehir-Arnavutköy-Istanbul Airport Metro Line, Bakırköy-Güngören-Bağcılar Kirazlı Metro Line, Altunizade-Ferah Mahallesi-Çamlıca-Bosnia Boulevard Rail System Project, Başakşehir-Çam Sakura City Hospital-Kayaşehir Metro Line and Kazlıçeşme-Sirkeci Rail System and Pedestrian We continue our work on the basis of 96/6 on 7 lines with a length of 24 kilometers, including the Focused New Generation Transportation Project. After our Pendik-Sabiha Gökçen Line, now there are Kağıthane-Istanbul Airport and Başakşehir- Kayaşehir Metro Lines. We will put all of our other lines into service in 2023, along with our Kazlıçeşme-Sirkeci Line. Thus, we will bring a total of 7,4 kilometers of rail system to Istanbul, together with the 103 kilometers long Pendik-Sabiha Gökçen Airport Metro, which we have opened. This is a great honor for us,” he said.

WE AIM TO REDUCE CARBON EMISSIONS WITH NEW GENERATION METHODS

Expressing that they will continue to work to encourage urban mobility in Istanbul and direct people to active mobility, public transportation and smart transportation solutions, Karaismailoğlu said, “As the Ministry, we have already made all our projects and investments, taking into account the developing trends in the world, with environmental sensitivity in the focus of mobility, logistics and digitalization. we are doing. Our holistic development-oriented vision; It also has many common denominators with the basic approaches of the European Union such as the European Green Consensus, the Paris Climate Agreement and the European Climate Law. In addition to the widespread use of electric urban rail systems, we aim to reduce carbon emissions with new generation methods within the framework of policies to reduce carbon emissions. In this regard, we are creating an effective, efficient and solution-oriented micro-mobility system. We create the general concept of the projects of spreading public transportation and bicycle use in cities and pedestrianization projects, and we attach great importance to its development. Kazlıçeşme-Sirkeci Urban Transportation and Recreation Oriented Transformation Project is one of the best examples of this.”

WE WILL OFFER A NEW GENERATION TRANSPORTATION PROJECT

Karaismailoğlu, who also gave information about the project, said that the 8,3-kilometer Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme line, which has 8 stations, is a rail system project; 8,5 kilometers of bicycle path, 8,5 kilometers of pedestrian path, 10 thousand 120 square meters of square and recreation areas, 6 thousand square meters of closed social cultural area, 74 thousand square meters of New Generation Green Area, 3 pedestrian overpasses, 22 highways and pedestrian areas. With its underpass, 4 registered stations as Yedikule, Kocamustafapaşa, Yenikapı, Kumkapı, 2 stations to be renewed as Sirkeci and Cankurtaran, and 2 new stations in Kazlıçeşme and Cerrahpaşa, it provides transportation needs to the people of Istanbul as well as socio-cultural, tourism, economic, ecological, recreation. He said that they will present a new generation transportation project with a hybrid character with new opportunities such as sports, travel, bicycle and scooter. Karaismailoğlu said, “In addition, the junction connecting the Samatya and Cerrahpaşa coastal road and the Samatya and Cerrahpaşa hospitals will be modernized, and the underpass will be upgraded to make it suitable for transportation. At this junction, we will quickly put our Samatya underpass into the service of Istanbulites and Fatih residents at the beginning of the year. With the new railway line to be built in Sirkeci Port Region, transportation and coordination will be provided between Sirkeci and Haydarpaşa ports. It will be a great work that will permanently touch the lives of Istanbulites. We have made physical progress in the project at the rate of 45 percent at the moment. Restoration works at registered stations, catenary foundation concrete and pole assemblies, drainage channel concrete works, sub-ballast material laying, rail and sleeper laying works are continuing rapidly.”

OUR INCENTIVES WILL CONTINUE TO DISSEMINATE ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE MODERN TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS

Emphasizing that they aim to complete all the works by April 2023, Karaismailoğlu said, "With the completion of the project, our economic gain between 2023 and 2053 is 425 million 562 thousand euros from highway maintenance and operation earnings, 116 million 971 thousand euros from the reduction in accidents, and 242 million 544 thousand euros from time savings. The total economic gain of our line will be 785 million Euros. Istanbulites closely follow new and livable projects such as Kazlıçeşme-Sirkeci Urban Transportation and Recreation-Oriented Transformation Project instead of not laying a foundation or not investing. We will continue our new investments and incentives to expand such environmentally friendly modern transportation systems in order to prevent the condensation of vehicle traffic in Istanbul. We will continue our efforts until we establish a fast, safe and comfortable transportation network that will meet the needs of Istanbul residents. We will be together again to put our project into service in the first quarter of 2023.”
