Budget Sent to Schools Reached 6,2 TL

For the first time this year, the Ministry of National Education continues to send budgets directly to all schools, which it started as part of preparation for education. Explaining that the budget sent to schools since the beginning of the academic year has reached 6,2 billion liras, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that they will continue to support schools.

For the preparations for the new academic year, a budget of 3,1 billion lira was sent to the schools in the first place. Within 2 months, the amount increased to 6,2 billion liras.

For the first time, a direct budget was sent to each school at the beginning of this academic year for the schools to meet their own needs, to purchase cleaning and stationery materials, and to equip them for minor repairs. Making statements regarding the current data of the application, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said, “We send a budget to each school in proportion to its needs in order to ensure equality of opportunity in education. We allocated more resources to those in need. As of today, the amount of the direct budget we have sent to our schools has reached 6,2 billion liras. Our schools spent 4,1 billion liras on cleaning, stationery, equipment and minor repairs. The rest is ready for the new expenses to be incurred. The budget we send is not final. As the need arises, we will continue to support our schools and follow the process.” said.

Emphasizing that the state has the power to meet all the needs of schools, Minister Özer reminded that at the beginning of the academic year, they stated that no donations can be requested from parents by associating it with registration. Minister Özer stated that 398 investigations were opened upon complaints on this issue, and 244 investigations are still ongoing. Özer said that the sanctions of the 154 investigations concluded are in the implementation phase.

As a result of the investigations, disciplinary punishment proposals were brought against the administrators of 29 schools. In addition, a proposal has been made to remove the principals of 2 schools from the managerial position, one has been implemented and the other is in the evaluation phase.
