Tariş Announces Extra Virgin Olive Oil Purchase Price

Hilmi Sürek, President of Tariş Olive and Olive Oil Union, noted that the price of 81 TL that they announced was a figure that would not make the producers suffer, and said, "Our Association has opened a buying campaign with prices that will not make the producers suffer."

Hilmi Sürek, President of Tariş Olive and Olive Oil Association, emphasized that the Union is an important power for the country, region and olive oil producers, and will use this strong structure of the Institution for its partners, and will use it to make the best use of the producer's product this season, as it does every year.

Stating that they set a price of 2022 TL for extra virgin oils in the purchase campaign of the Tariş Olive and Olive Oil Association for the period 2023-81, Sürek pointed out that this figure is an amount that will not make the producers suffer.

President Sürek underlined that they aim not to victimize the manufacturer by preserving the value of the product, and said:

“Taris Olive and Olive Oil Association creates its policies by carefully examining the country and world markets at the beginning of each season, in line with the goal of making the best use of the producer's product.

We ran a successful campaign as a result of our meticulous efforts last season. We have completed the 2021-2022 campaign period, shoulder to shoulder with our producer partners, in a satisfactory manner in terms of both purchases and sales. This year, we have opened a purchase campaign by determining a price of 81 TL for extra virgin olive oil as a result of sensitive evaluations, taking into account the region, country and world production and price formations.'' He said.

Union President Hilmi Sürek evaluated that the 2022-2023 season will be a different season for Turkey and other producer countries, and concluded his words as follows:

''Based on the field studies, our country will realize the highest yield in its history in this production season. On the other hand, it is known that there is serious yield loss due to drought in Spain, the world's largest producer. Besides Spain, a similar situation can be seen in Italy and Portugal. This situation provides an important opportunity for the evaluation of olive oils in our country. Together, we must turn this opportunity into profit. I wish a successful and fruitful season to everyone who strives for olive and olive oil production.
