Taşlı South-2 Viaduct between Kars and Erzurum was put into service

Taşlıgüney-2 Viaduct and connection roads built on the Karakurt - Horasan Road, which connects Erzurum and Kars provinces, were completed and opened to traffic on Monday, November 7th.

The height of the viaduct, which is 574 meters long, built with prestressed beams and balanced cantilever construction technique, reaches 120 meters. With the completion of the viaduct, the entire road between Kars and Erzurum was turned into a divided road.

The 45,7 km section of the highway connecting the provinces of Kars and Erzurum was redesigned in the standard of a divided road, since the Karakurt Dam is within the lake area. The road, a significant part of which was first put into service in 2020, was completed with the opening of the Taşlıgüney-2 Viaduct to traffic.

The travel time on the Karakurt-Horasan Road, which provides safer and more comfortable transportation to road users on the north-south axis and access to border gates, has decreased from 46 minutes to 25 minutes.
