The construction works of Narince Gerger Road, which will provide faster and safer transportation to the Gerger district of Adıyaman, started with the groundbreaking ceremony held on Friday, November 18th. At the ceremony attended by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and General Manager of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, deputies, bureaucrats and contractor company representatives were present.
“Travel time will decrease from 46 minutes to 25 minutes”
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that they carried out the site delivery of the Narince-Gerger Road project in June of this year. In project scope; Karaismailoğlu stated that along with the 33-kilometer single road, there is also the 3,5-kilometer Gerger Ring Road; “With the completion of the project, our road route will be shortened by 2 kilometers and the travel time will be reduced from 46 minutes to 25 minutes. Thus, we will raise the physical and geometric standards of the road.” said.
Underlining that with the new road to be built, they will save 18 million liras from time and 3 million liras from fuel, a total of 21 million liras per year, our Minister said, adding that the new road will also facilitate access to Mount Nemrut, one of the world's important tourism centers, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. and that trade will be revived.
Minister Karaismailoğlu informed that after the groundbreaking ceremony of the Narince-Gerger Road, they will also examine the Kahta-Narince-Siverek Road construction works and Adıyaman Hospital Different Level Junction.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Manager Uraloğlu stated that the Narince-Gerger Road, which is approximately 37 kilometers, was included in the investment plan, they made the tender and started the construction work. Stating that they will finish the road as soon as possible, Uraloğlu stated that they will make the road between Narince Gerger a standard road.
Within the scope of construction works; The existing road with a platform width of 4-6 meters that provides access to Gerger, with low physical and geometric standards; It will be renewed in the standard of a single road with a length of 33,1 kilometers, a platform width of 10 meters, with a surface coating of 2×1 lanes. In the project, which will shorten the existing road by approximately 2 kilometers, 4 million 250 thousand cubic meters of earthwork, 104 thousand cubic meters of concrete, 7 thousand 600 tons of reinforced concrete iron, 94 tons of prestressing steel, 2 thousand 600 meters of bored piles, 60 prefabricated beams, 432 thousand tons of plantmix sub-base and foundation, 12 thousand square meters of horizontal marking, 320 square meters of vertical marking, 20 kilometers of guardrails will be manufactured.
