The guest country of the 12th International Photography Festival (BursaFotoFest), organized by the Metropolitan Municipality with the theme of 'Roots' in cooperation with Bursa City Council and Bursa Photography Art Association (BUFSAD), will be TÜRSOY member Turkish states.
BursaPhotoFest, which is the first in Turkey and one of the few events in the world and will be held between 12-2 December with the theme of 'Roots' in its 9th year, was introduced at the BUSKİ Conference Hall. To the meeting; Bursa City Council President Şevket Orhan, BUFSAD President Serpil Savaş, Curator Beyhan Özdemir and Assistant Curator Fahrettin Beceren also attended. Within the scope of the event, which will last until December 9, many side events such as shows, artist talks, interviews with masters and portfolio evaluations will be organized as well as exhibitions. The venue of BursaFotoFest will be Merinos Atatürk Congress and Culture Center (Merinos AKKM) this year as it is every year.

Curated by Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Photography, Assoc. 2022 photographers from 'Turkey, USA, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, England, Iran, Spain, Italy, TRNC, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Romania and Serbia' will participate in BursaPhotoFest 200, undertaken by Beyhan Özdemir. There will be 116 exhibitions and 45 photography shows at the festival, and more than 2000 photographs will be exhibited throughout the event. Exhibitions will meet with photography lovers in special areas to be set up in Merinos AKKM Fairground. Within the scope of the festival, many side events such as performances, artist talks, interviews with masters and portfolio evaluations will be organized.
Vera Haciska from Bulgaria, Valter Bernardeşi and Vircilyo Bardosi from Italy, Gabriel Brau Gelabert from Spain, Vladimir Zivojivonic from Serbia, Kurtveliyev Ernes Fevzievic from Uzbekistan and Nurlan Tahirli from Azerbaijan, and popular actress Engin Altan Düzyatan from Turkey, The works of Timurtaş Onan, Dora Günel and Tahir Ün will meet with photography lovers at the event. The honored guest of the festival is Prof. Dr. It will be Güler Ertan.
At the festival; Exhibitions of photographers from Adiyaman, Ankara, Antalya, Aydin, Balikesir, Eskisehir, Gaziantep, Giresun, Istanbul, Izmir, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Konya, Mardin, Mersin, Mugla, Nevsehir, Sakarya, Samsun, Tokat and Van as well as Bursa will also be included.
The guest country of the festival will be the member countries of TURKSOY as Bursa is the 2022 Turkish World Capital of Culture. In this context, photographers from Azerbaijan, TRNC, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will add value to the organization with their works.
Bursa City Council President Şevket Orhan stated that photography is a bridge from the past to the future and said that they are happy to be holding the 12th of Fotofest, which is Turkey's first and one of the world's few photography festivals.
BUFSAD President Serpil Savaş emphasized that Bursa is a city of photography and that it lives all four seasons to the fullest. Savaş thanked the Metropolitan Municipality and Bursa City Council for their great contribution to the organization of the 12th festival.
The Curator of the Festival is Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Fine Arts Photography Department Lecturer Assoc. Beyhan Özdemir, on the other hand, said that many municipalities in Turkey hold various photography or art events, but these are individual or suspended festivals. Özdemir emphasized that Turkey's largest and most participatory photography festival, which Bursa has been holding for 12 years without interruption, contributed greatly to the promotion of both the city and Turkey.
Assistant Curator Fahrettin Beceren also invited all art lovers to Fotofest.
