Vehicle Mounted Laser Weapon 'JARMOL' Developed by TÜBİTAK Introduced

Developed by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM engineers with domestic and national technology opportunities, the Vehicle Mounted Laser Weapon JARMOL was introduced at a meeting held at the TÜBİTAK Gebze campus with the participation of the Gendarmerie General Command and TÜBİTAK officials.

JARMOL, developed by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM engineers for the Gendarmerie General Command, is a 1kW Single Mode (SM) Laser System integrated into the Kirpi5 Military vehicle. It is a unique laser defense system that is the most advanced in terms of performance and size among the systems developed by a few countries with this technology.

In the tests carried out, it has been observed that the drones and fixed-wing UAVs, which have become an important threat to our military units, especially in the operation areas, are quite successful in neutralizing them by dropping them with laser fire.

JARMOL has 5kW SM Fiber Laser System, Stabilized Laser Focuser, Adaptive Command Control System, Intelligent Power Management System developed by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM. It works in integration with ASELSAN İHTAR System (Radar, Jammer, EO Suit).

JARMOL is an advanced version of the ARMOL System, which has been in the TAF inventory since June 2020 and is still used in the tactical field, in terms of laser power, optical components, target tracking system and effective range. ARMOL was Turkey's first national laser system in compliance with military standards, which was put into the service of the TAF.
