İSKİ, the long-established institution of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), commissioned the second stage unit, which will double the daily capacity of Taşoluk Drinking Water Treatment Plant in Arnavutköy. Like this; The treatment power of the facility with a capacity of 2 thousand m³/day has increased to a total of 50 thousand m³/day.

IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlumade a speech at the event held before the facility was put into service. Before his speech, he gave a colorful lecture to 6-year-old Ali Mert Yalçın, a first year primary school student, on the working system of the facility and water saving. sohbet İmamoğlu said, “A good job has been done here. Arnavutköy is currently experiencing an unplanned growth that was not known about 12-13 years ago in Istanbul. Because, not much, when we went back 13 years ago, there was no airport in the plans. But suddenly, a plan was made and one of the largest airports in the world was built here. Inevitably, this turned both the settlement around Arnavutköy and the growth there to a very different dimension. And at this time, of course, much, much more than expected, people started to settle in Arnavutköy. There is an increasing population. There are needs brought by the airport. In this sense, there is a need for an infrastructure process in every subject. There is a need for an effective process description in every aspect, from improving human living conditions, improving the quality of life, to infrastructure, to roads," he said.

Emphasizing that İSKİ added value to the region with its investments of 1 billion 300 million liras in Arnavutköy, İmamoğlu said:

“Istanbul's water and canal administration is above politics. Like air, like water, it is the most basic organization of the basic elements of life. In that respect, there are issues that we have to do, up to the needs of this institution, the financing model of this institution, and the tariff of this institution. In every respect; From the Mayor to the General Manager, to the employees, from the IMM Assembly to the people who take part in the İSKİ General Assembly, everyone has an obligation to think like this and take such decisions. İSKİ is never an area to be slammed into politically. Every issue that concerns our people in Istanbul also requires such meticulousness, but in some issues that can be tolerated. But this place is nothing like that. We are talking about water, which is the source of life. We're talking about getting water into our home in a clean way. We are talking about the purification of the polluted water, purifying it according to internationally accepted norms, in order to ensure the environmental conditions for people to survive.”

Pointing out that the facility they inaugurated is also connected to the Terkos Dam, one of the city's most important water resources, İmamoğlu said, “It is really a pointless and unnecessary agenda for them to occupy this place with a concept like Kanal Istanbul that will overturn this city, this country, even though they know they cannot. I would also like to express that I see I hope we will not bring this concrete massacre into this city in any way, and we will not burden Istanbul with an issue that will overturn the fate of this city. Istanbul is a whole. Istanbul does not have a party district. No county has a party. Each county is an administrative region of this country. In Istanbul, it is the whole of an area of 39 districts, it is a world city. In this context, we continue to provide equal service to every point of our cities and districts, with sensitivity and care, through all our institutions, especially İSKİ. We will continue to do so. We will never compromise on that,” he said.

İSKİ General Manager Şafak Başa also shared detailed information about the facility they opened. According to the information shared by Başa; In order to meet the increasing water demand in Arnavutköy District, in addition to the existing 50 thousand m³/day capacity Taşoluk Drinking Water Treatment Plant, the Taşoluk 50nd Stage Drinking Water Treatment Plant with a 2 thousand m³/day capacity was completed and the total capacity is 100 thousand m³. /day increased. In addition to the facility, among the projects with a total investment value of 435 million TL; In order to prevent water cuts in the region, Arnavutköy drinking water tank with a capacity of 5 thousand m³ was built. According to the population projection of Arnavutköy district, 4.610 meters of transmission line was laid in order to meet the water needs of the new airport and its surroundings. In order to renew the lines that have completed their economic life in the region and to meet new demands, 79.497 meters of drinking water network has been manufactured. In addition, waste water collector and network line in regions with insufficient cross-section, which have completed their useful life and do not have a waste water line; In order to prevent floods, a rain water line was built and rehabilitation work was carried out in Şirindere. The total length of all these works was 49.072 meters.
